MEDITATION MONDAY
Yesterday morning, one of the members of our congregation gave the message. It was powerful! Thank you, Glynn! My mind connected to Steve's sermon of last week when he used Thomas Kinkaide houses to stress that we are God's house... God's workmanship!

Glynn ask us, "Which is more accurate to say?"

- "I'm going to drop something off at church," or
- "Good morning, church!" ...like so many of our men say when they get up to speak before us.

Of course, the church is people... not brick and mortar!
.
Glynn reviewed with us that Christ refers to His relationship with christians in multiple ways. Three of those ways are;
- Christ is the head and the church is His body.
- Christ is the King and the church is the kingdom.
- Christ is the cornerstone and the church is made up of living stones fitted together to be the House of God.

Both Steve and Glynn referred to the fact that as our congregation builds a new church building this year that we want to focus on building THE CHURCH of God from the inside out. Just as the master builders, who are building our new church building, want the best... no shortcuts... no secondhand stone... Our MASTER BUILDER knows how to build a church better than anyone else. He's looking for living breathing stones who will lay down their lives to be built into His house. This was part of Glynn's visual:

There are many "living stones" who have now left this earth as part of the House of God and they make up our "great cloud of witnesses."

Glynn led us to the following verses as he encouraged us join that cloud of witnesses and let God build us into His house.
1 Peter 2:1-6
"Therefore,
putting aside all malice and
all guile and hypocrisy
and envy and all slander,
like newborn babes,
long for the pure milk of the word,
that by it you may grow in respect to salvation,
if you have tasted the kindness of the Lord.
And coming to Him as to a living stone,
rejected by men,
but choice and precious in the sight of God,
you also, as living stones, are being built up
as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood,
to offer up spiritual sacrifices
acceptable to God through Jesus Christ. "

.So, we have this great cloud of witnesses who understand what it takes to build a house for God that is HOLY...
...they made the choice , while on this earth, to "throw off everything that hindered and the sin that so easily entangled them..."

There were 3,000 who made the choice, one day, after Peter preached to them on the day of Pentecost, as Acts 2:38 records, "And Peter said to them, 'Repent, and let each of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.' "

Consider today what it is that entangles you from being HOLY.
- What do you need to throw off in order to live a life as a LIVING BREATHING STONE?
- Have you begun your journey as a christian like the people in Acts did? Have you repented of your sins and been baptized? The Master Builder is looking for LIVING STONES to use to build His House.
- Did you begin the journey as a christian and then find things entangling you and keeping you from living a HOLY life? Is something holding you back from persevering on your christian journey?

We make ourselves available to Him once the blood of Jesus gives us new life and His Holy Spirit comes to live inside of us! Then, Master Builder needs us to remain as LIVING STONES who He can use to build His House, A Holy Priesthood...
