It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

HOLY...PUT OFF TO PUT ON...

KETCHUP AND MUSTARD SATURDAY
Catch Up and Must Do
.
I love our Saturday conversations over a sandwich! Today, though, I think I'll drink a protein shake while you eat yours. Last night, Steve and I went out to eat with our 3rd child, Caleb, who has been here visiting with us this week from Missouri. At Texas Roadhouse, it's more of an event than a meal. Our wait was about 30 minutes. Our steaks were mighty fine! Our fellowship was better. I am still full!
.
CATCH-UP:
  • SLEEP: Since I finally turned my grades, from last semester, in on Wednesday, I'm hoping to catch up on my sleep. I've read that if you are sleep deprived, get about 11 hours of good quality sleep and your sleep clock will reset. Then, just make an effort to get 7, 8, or 9 hours on a consistent basis. The articles said that if you still are feeling really tired, then there may be something else wrong. That whole 11 hours thing is hard to do!
  • OUR MEMORY VERSE: Hebrews 12:1a - "Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses..." God certainly gave us an amazing visual on this one this week - starting with a week ago Friday. Today might be a great time to "catch up" on this blogs posts since the new year began. Our sister Tanya's life and death have been an inspiration to many of us!
  • OUR MEMORY VERSE: Hebrews 12:1b - "...let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles..." So what hinders us from running our lives for Jesus? Too many other things on our plate! This verse says to "throw off everything that hinders!" Have you decided what that might be? And what about the "sin that so easily entangles? Time to get out your spiritual trash can! Here is a brief list of sins from God's word that might get us started: sexual immorality, impurity, debauchery, idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions, envy, drunkenness, orgies, lies, stealing, unwholesome talk, bitterness, rage, anger, brawling, slander, malice...(Galatians 5:19-21, Ephesians 4;25-32).
  • OUR MEMORY VERSE: Hebrews 12:1c - "...let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us." Life is not a walk or a leisurely stroll! It's a race! It's not for the faint of heart! It's not for the quitter! We can not give up! Never... never... never... give up! It's marked out for us by the only way... the one way... JESUS! We'll talk much more about that next week.
  • HOLINESS: Only God is truly holy! Yet, He invites us to participate in His divine nature. The journey to holiness certainly connects to our memory verse! Here are 2 passages to consider:
    • Ephesians 4:22-24 "You were taught, with regard to your former way of life, to put off your old self, which is being corrupted by its deceitful desires; 23 to be made new in the attitude of your minds; 24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness."
    • Galatians 3:26-29 "You are all sons (daughters) of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. (put on!) 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."

MUST DO:

  • COUNT BLESSINGS... NOT TROUBLES: This "Christmas break" has been a little different for me. I did not put up my usual gazillion decorations or a tree. It had been a rough 2 months with Jessica and her pain and Steve and his surgery recovery with his back and knee pain. I was peddling as hard and fast as I could and somedays seemed to go nowhere. I was disappointed that I couldn't have things "just right" by the time Crystal came home from college (her bedroom was not ready). I was disappointed that Jordan and his family got the stomach flu and had to cancel their flights home over Christmas. Then, again, that's life!!! I choose to count my blessings! For three weeks, each morning, I got to go down the stairs and stand in the den with the roaring fireplace and watch Crystal curled up asleep nearby. I tried it this morning, but she's back in Michigan now... and has left me with treasured memories. For this week, I've heard Caleb's roaring laughter and I smile. More blessed memories! I count them!
  • PITMAN "TRANSFORMED MOM" - Last night, after being in the ER for 9 hours, Carla finally got a room at Kennedy Hospital - #301. Will have her gall bladder removed this morning. Sherwin, Mandy, Linda, Dan/Katherine, & I have taken shifts being with her. I left her around 11 last night with the pain meds taking care of the pain so she can sleep... pray... Pitman family, please see how you can help with the three little ones, food, etc. ... talk to Brenda Peoples... GIGATTAATTGIG...
