It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

FIX YOUR EYES ON JESUS... IN CHRIST ALONE...

.
Our oldest, Jordan, was not quite six when our youngest was born. Each of our 4 children were born uniquely different. Once each of us was able to identify our differences IN CHRIST, the differences were highlighted in a very positive and proactive way. As you consider fixing your eyes on Jesus, have your family join you!
. .
This week, as we have talked about focusing our eyes on Jesus, His faith, the JOY, His endurance, it brought to mind a previous post. In my classes and on this blog, I have repeatedly brought up the concept of our identity being IN CHRIST and blessing our children with their individual identities IN CHRIST. It certainly helps when Daddy and Mommy know who they are IN CHRIST. Consider the words that I post below from my 11-11-08 post.
.
.

Today, I am grateful that my husband and each of our children have made the choice to wear THE NAME OF JESUS, being part of His eternal family.
.

STEVE has many characteristics of his big brother Jesus- including
  • PRINCE OF PEACE and
  • GOOD TEACHER...

Steve exemplifies the fruit of the Holy Spirit in his life. Two parts of the Spirit's fruit that he shows strongly are peace and goodness. To know Steve, is to know his multi-faceted love for peace which includes wanting others to be at peace with their Maker. He portrays the goodness of God to all those who sit at his feet...even being known for his oft used phrase: GIGATTAATTGIG..."God is good all the time and all the time God is good!" Thank you, Steve, for wanting to be more like Jesus!

.

CRYSTAL has many characteristics of her big brother Jesus-including

  • VINE and
  • GOOD SHEPHERD

Jesus is called The Vine because He connects his family and weaves in and out of their lives...Crystal does that! A good shepherd is someone who watches out for the needs of others within a "flock"...she's done that over and over again with groups of children, teens, and peers. Thank you, Crystal, for wanting to be more like Jesus!

.

CALEB has many characteristics of his big brother Jesus- including

  • WORD and
  • CREATOR

One and two word descriptions of Jesus are important to see Who He is and Caleb is very careful to value words and their meanings, pondering over deeper connections. He also has the creativity gene of Jesus to the point that when he is writing songs, poetry, etc. he is at his best. Thank you, Caleb, for wanting to be more like Jesus!

.

JESSICA has many characteristics of her big brother Jesus-including

  • MEDIATOR and
  • WONDERFUL COUNSELOR

Even though she says that she doesn't have the "auditory gift", she is a good listener when people come to her with their problems...wonderful! She has a gift of defusing arguments and has defused several over the years within the Sikes' household and on the job. Thank you, Jessica, for wanting to be more like Jesus!

.

JORDAN has many characteristics of his big brother Jesus- including

  • LION and
  • LAMB

He is a natural born leader, in the home, church, and workplace, who can be decisive and have a strong opinion while being kind, gentle and compassionate...he is not too proud to be a great follower like a lamb...it's unusual to have those two characteristics in one person. Thank you, Jordan, for wanting to be more like Jesus!

.

JESUS, thank you for Who You are! We want to become more and more like You!

Philippians 2:4-11 "

...do not merely look out for your own personal interests,

but also for the interests of others.

5 Have this attitude in yourselves

which was also in Christ Jesus,

6 who, although He existed in the form of God,

did not regard equality with God a thing to be grasped,

7 but emptied Himself, taking the form of a bond servant,

and being made in the likeness of men.

8 And being found in appearance as a man,

He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death,

even death on a cross..

Therefore also God highly exalted Him,

and bestowed on Him the name

which is above every name,

10 that at the name of Jesus

every knee should bow,

of those who are in heaven,

and on earth,

and under the earth,

11 and that every tongue should confess

that Jesus Christ is Lord,

to the glory of God the Father."

I love how you wrote about each of your family members with the characteristics of Jesus. I want to do that with each of my family members too! Thanks for being such a blessing. You have really encouraged my spiritual journey.
