It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

MY DELIVERER... TRANSFORMS...

TRANSFORMING THURSDAY

It just took one drag of my computer mouse to transform the above picture from balls of rubber bands to flying discs of rubber bands.
.
It just takes a short time to say "I DO", but those vows are for a lifetime. The keeping or not keeping of those vows have an impact for generations. "In sickness or in health..." , "For richer or for poorer..." J & J made those vows in 2003... their lives will soon be changing...
.

.
Lisa didn't know she would have to walk this road with Chip; neither did Cindy know she would have to walk it with Rich. Yet, the road of committment is one for those who have chosen to put on THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD: for those who believe in truth, righteousness, the gospel, peace, faith, salvation, and the Spirit of the living God. I've grown / transformed through our focus on THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD, this month. God has taught me in a multiplicity of ways.

.

As this month now comes to a close, I've thought a lot about why I chose the theme of MY DELIVERER for this last week...

  • because it is JESUS, THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD, who will deliver me from this world of sin and death
  • because it is the compassion of JESUS that takes in a little abandoned baby left for blind, deaf, and mute... to be raised by parents with the heart of JESUS who teach him (deliver him) via loving patience and loving patience and loving patience... until he sees, he hears, and he speaks 2 languages fluently, and even yodels...
  • because it is with hope that daddies and mommies wait for 9 months for an egg to be transformed into a beautiful baby - and he is delivered!!! I love this smiling almost 4 month old grandson! His TRANSFORMED MOMMY, Krista, gave birth to him at home!
  • because transformation and growth of a fetus does lead to delivery. This causes more transformation in the days, weeks, and years to come.... it's how God works - inside and out...
  • So, Happy Birthday today to our daughter-in-love , Jacqueline, who is about ready to deliver... Delivery will once again transform your life!
  • Jacqueline has the heart Jesus, her Deliverer! Today on FB, a friend wrote on her wall, " Happy Birthday to one of the most thoughtful people on Earth!"
  • I'm so thankful TRANSFORMED MOMMY, Jacqueline, has been raising one of our grandchildren and is about to deliver and raise another!

MY DELIVERER... HE IS THE SWORD... THE WORD OF GOD...

WOMEN IN THE WORD WEDNESDAY
.
Each month, on this blog, we work on memorizing a new scripture. This month, we have focused on Ephesians 6 and it's description of the WORD as part of the full armor of God. Last month it was John 1, "and the WORD became flesh and dwelt among us!"
.
Join me in practicing both scriptures followed by Chip Bloecher reading John 1 again today:

MY DELIVERER... ON THE MOVE...

I am so thankful for a God who delivers! Yesterday, our friend Chip was "delivered" to a new hospital that his friends and family have been praying would happen for several days. He is now at UTSW experiencing great neuological and cardiac care.
.
.

When I went to the PRAYING FOR CHIP BLOECHER FB group to get an update yesterday, I found that a group of his friends have put together a slideshow to go with the recording of Chip reading the Bible to his little daughter Hope. I was deeply moved. Click below to hear:

A week ago, I posted about Chip and Lisa Bloecher on Gratituesday:

.
We continue to stand firm in God's armor and pray, praising God that He and only He is our DELIVERER!

MY DELIVERER: WEAR HIS FULL ARMOR

MEDITATION MONDAY
Putting on God's full armor has been the focus of this blog for the month of September. God says, "Here, put on my full armor, if you want to stand up against the evil one... because evil days will come!!!!"
.
I've thought a lot about this the last few weeks as I've seen spiritual warriors stand firm and pray unceasingly in GOD'S FULL ARMOR:
  • TRUTH
  • RIGHTEOUSNESS
  • THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
  • FAITH
  • SALVATION
  • THE WORD OF GOD
Several of my family / friends have undergone great challenges as their physical and spiritual worlds collide:
  • a double hand transplant
  • a baby born with major heart problems
  • death, at the age of 41 - heart gave out...
  • eviction from an apartment with a tiny baby and nowhere to go
  • a family feuding at uncle's funeral
  • home struck by lightning that in one night took out AC, well, security system, garage door opener, TV, and computer
  • heat stroke, body temp 107, in a coma, pneumonia, heart tachycardia, brain function questionable...
  • chronic pain 24/7 for 15 years
  • sleepless nights as labor and delivery will be soon
What?!?!??! Yes! In fact, I could keep the list going... there's more. Yet, it is the FELLOWSHIP OF SUFFERING that brings the christian warrior to stand firm, in full armor, praying for our Deliverer to come.
.
I talked about it with my elementary kids Bible class yesterday as they recited verses about God delivering Noah. My students learned this summer that JESUS is actually each piece of God's armor that we put on. He is:
  • THE TRUTH (belt of truth)
  • OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS (breastplate of righteousness)
  • THE GOSPEL AND THE PRINCE OF PEACE (feet hod with the readiness of the gospel of peace)
  • FAITHFUL AND TRUE (the shield of faith)
  • OUR SALVATION (the helmet of salvation)
  • THE WORD (the sword of the spirit which is the WORD of GOD)

Noah had a great grasp of this as he chose to TRUST AND OBEY.

.
Yesterday, following Bible class, Matt led songs about RESCUE during our church services and then Dan preached about the book of Jonah. His brief outline looked like this:
  1. CHAPTER ONE: JONAH RAN FROM GOD.
  2. CHAPTER TWO: JONAH RAN TO GOD.
  3. CHAPTER THREE: JONAH RAN WITH GOD.
  4. CHAPTER FOUR: JONAH RAN AHEAD OF GOD.
Which do you do when waiting on your Rescuer
or your Deliverer?

On Saturday, a bunch of us went to Lancaster, PA to see the PSALMS OF DAVID, musical production at the LIVING WATERS theater. Steve and I arrived a little late, but as we walked in, I knew that I would be encouraged. They were singing MY DELIVERER. David knew His Deliverer well! Take time to pick up your Sword of the Spirit, which is the WORD OF GOD and pray these Psalms as you pour out your requests to your DELIVERER. Join me in praying for those people above and for others who the LORD brings to your mind.

Psalms 40:16-41:3
6 But may all who seek you
rejoice and be glad in you;
may those who love your salvation always say,
"The LORD be exalted!"

17 Yet I am poor and needy;
may the Lord think of me.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O my God, do not delay.

Blessed is he who has regard for the weak;
the LORD delivers him in times of trouble.
2 The LORD will protect him and preserve his life;
he will bless him in the land
and not surrender him to the desire of his foes.
3 The LORD will sustain him on his sickbed
and restore him from his bed of illness.
.
Psalm 70:5-71:4
.
5 Yet I am poor and needy;
come quickly to me, O God.
You are my help and my deliverer;
O LORD, do not delay.

In you, O LORD, I have taken refuge;
let me never be put to shame.
2 Rescue me and deliver me
in Your righteousness;
turn Your ear to me and save me.
3 Be my rock of refuge,
to which I can always go;
give the command to save me,
for You are my rock and my fortress.
4 Deliver me, O my God..."
.

Psalm 144:2
2 He is my loving God and my fortress,
my stronghold and my deliverer,
my shield, in whom I take refuge,
who subdues peoples under me.

MY DELIVERER

MY DELIVERER

Songwriters: Rich Mullins & Mitch McVicker
.
Joseph took his wife and her child
And they went to Africa
To escape the rage of a deadly King
There along the banks of the Nile
Jesus listened to the song
That the captive children used to sing
.

They were singin'
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by

.
Through a dry and thirsty land
Water from the Kenyon heights
Pours itself out of lake Sangra's broken heart
There in the Sahara winds
Jesus heard the whole world cry
For the healin' that would flow from His own scars
.
The world was singin'
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
.
He will never break His promise
He has written it upon the sky
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' byMy
deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
.
I will never doubt His promise
Though I doubt my heart,
I doubt my eyes
.
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
.
He will never break His promise
Though the stars should break faith with the sky
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by
My deliverer is comin',
my deliverer is standin' by

THIS WARRIOR IS A CHILD... AT LEAST SHE THINKS LIKE ONE...

KETCHUP AND MUSTARD

Catch Up and Must Do

What a week! Praying! Praying some more! It takes the perspective of being on our knees. It's a different kind of view. Humble... poor in spirit... relinquishing control... For today, a child's view sounds great. Enjoy! Marvel! Praise God!

THIS WARRIOR IS A CHILD... PRAYING FOR MALE SPIRITUAL LEADERSHIP...

Many of you have come here over the last week to see what I would post new about Chip Bloecher. Every Friday, my post follows the theme of the framed print above, by Cindy Grubb, as we celebrate FAMILY FELLOWSHIP FRIDAY. Chip and Lisa are not my children, but we are family because of Jesus! Hope is not my grandchild, but we are family because of Jesus!

.

Today, I am asking you, transformed mommies, to pull aside the men in your life and have them consider the following. If you are a daddy who has arrived here to consider the life of Chip Bloecher, you are at the right place, even if this is a "mom's blog".
.
Chip is a devoted soldier of the cross... a man passionately in love with Jesus, his family, his church family, his students, and people in general. Chip is a man who knows how to STAND FIRM. He is a man who knows how to PRAY... Chip is a man who knows how to LEAD...

.

Join me in praying for Hope's daddy to return to her to lead her and her mommy...

.

Join me in praying for my grandson, Perry, as his daddy leads him and his mommy...

Join me in praying for my granddaughters, Chloe and her unborn sister (due in 14 days), as their daddy leads them and their mommy...

I will join you in praying for your children as you choose to recommit to the leadership of your family. May the following video deeply stir your spirit to be the male spiritual leader who God desires you to be! You will need to pause the playlist above in order to watch it!

.

Ephesians 6:13-18

Therefore put on the full armor of God,

so that when the day of evil comes,

you may be able to stand your ground,

and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then,

...with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with

the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.

16 In addition to all this,

take up the shield of faith,

with which you can extinguish

all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and

the sword of the Spirit,

which is the word of God.

18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions

with all kinds of prayers and requests.

With this in mind,

be alert and always keep on

praying for all the saints. "

THIS WARRIOR IS A CHILD...FERVENTLY PRAYING...

TRANSFORMING THURSDAY
.
Welcome to Autumn! I love this time of year! Signs of transformation are everywhere in South Jersey. I grew up as a "military brat" and lived many places. I realize that not every place on this planet has a magnificient change of seasons. Yet, one thing I know to be true... there is a pattern of climate that is fairly consistent for wherever you or I live.
.
Creation shouts patterns... cycles... things you can count on... truth...

.
The first part of Romans 1:20 says,

.
"For since the creation of the world

His invisible attributes,

His eternal power

and divine nature,

have been clearly seen,

being understood through what has been made..."
.
As I look out my window, at this beautiful fall morning, I see God! He sent a violent thunderstorm last night. Leaves are on the ground that weren't there before. His creation is amazing in this "garden state" and all over the universe.
.
I've been begging Him recently for more violent thunderstorms. There was one last Thursday night and then again last night. Thank You, LORD! During the storms, our 27 year old daughter Jessica, who suffers from constant migraines and chronic pain, is over the top miserable. Yet, lately, after these storms, her migraines / chronic pain lessen for a time period of a day to five days. That's been the pattern. Yet, I know He can change patterns. I know He answers prayers. So, I'm praying that soon a thunderstorm will lessen her pain to the point of taking it away entirely and never allowing it to return again.

  • Sometimes, He says, "Yes!"

  • Sometimes, He says, "No!"

  • Sometimes, He says, "Wait!"

How do I know? Because Jessica has been in constant pain since she was twelve.

.

How do I know? Through His word:

God hears His children and lets us get a glimpse at what James means when He says, James 5:16-18

"The effective prayer of a righteous man

can accomplish much.

Elijah was a man with a nature like ours,

and he prayed earnestly that it might not rain;

and it did not rain on the earth

for three years and six months.

And he prayed again,

and the sky poured rain,

and the earth produced its fruit."

.

What gives me even more hope? It's the amazing transformational passage in John 9. Have you read it recently? I have put it, in it's entirety, here for your reading. I have also highlighted words for a "quick read".

John 9 - Healing the Man Born Blind

.

As He passed by, He saw a man blind from birth. 2 And His disciples asked Him, " Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he would be born blind?" 3 Jesus answered, "It was neither that this man sinned, nor his parents; but it was so that the works of God might be displayed in him. 4 "We must work the works of Him who sent Me as long as it is day; night is coming when no one can work. 5 "While I am in the world, I am the Light of the world." 6 When He
had said this, He spat on the ground, and made clay of the spittle, and applied the clay to his eyes, 7 and said to him, "Go, wash in the pool of Siloam" (which is translated, Sent). So he went away and washed, and came back seeing. 8 Therefore the neighbors, and those who previously saw him as a beggar, were saying, "Is not this the one who used to sit and beg?" 9 Others were saying, "This is he," still others were saying, "No, but he is like him." He kept saying, "I am the one." 10 So they were saying to him, "How then were your eyes opened?" 11 He answered, "The man who is called Jesus made clay, and anointed my eyes, and said to me, 'Go to Siloam and wash'; so I went away and washed, and I received sight." 12 They said to him, "Where is He?" He said, "I do not know."

.

13 They brought to the Pharisees the man who was formerly blind. 14 Now it was a Sabbath on the day when Jesus made the clay and opened his eyes. 15 Then the Pharisees also were asking him again how he received his sight. And he said to them, "He applied clay to my eyes, and I washed, and I see." 16 Therefore some of the Pharisees were saying, This man is not from God, because He does not keep the Sabbath." But others were saying, "How can a man who is a sinner perform such signs?"

.

And there was a division among them. 17 So they said to the blind man again, "What do you say about Him, since He opened your eyes?" And he said, "He is a prophet." 18 The Jews then did not believe it of him, that he had been blind and had received sight, until they called the parents of the very one who had received his sight, 19 and questioned them, saying, "Is this your son, who you say was born blind? Then how does he now see?" 20 His parents answered them and said, "We know that this is our son, and that he was born blind; 21 but how he now sees, we do not know; or who opened his eyes, we do not know. Ask him; he is of age, he will speak for himself." 22 His parents said this because they were afraid of the Jews; for the Jews had already agreed that if anyone confessed Him to be Christ, he was to be put out of the synagogue. 23 For this reason his parents said, " He is of age; ask him."

.

24 So a second time they called the man who had been blind, and said to him, " Give glory to God; we know that this man is a sinner." 25 He then answered, "Whether He is a sinner, I do not know; one thing I do know, that though I was blind, now I see." 26 So they said to him, "What did He do to you? How did He open your eyes?" 27 He answered them, " I told you already and you did not listen; why do you want to hear it again? You do not want to become His disciples too, do you?" 28 They reviled him and said,
"You are His disciple, but we are disciples of Moses. 29 "We know that God has spoken to Moses, but as for this man, we do not know where He is from." 30 The man answered and said to them, "Well, here is an amazing thing, that you do not know where He is from, and yet He opened my eyes. 31 "We know that God does not hear sinners; but if anyone is God-fearing and does His will, He hears him. 32 " Since the beginning of time it has never been heard that anyone opened the eyes of a person born blind. 33 " If this man were not from God, He could do nothing." 34 They answered him, " You were born entirely in sins, and are you teaching us?" So they put him out.

.

35 Jesus heard that they had put him out, and finding him, He said, "Do you believe in the Son of Man?" 36 He answered, " Who is He, Lord, that I may believe in Him?" 37 Jesus said to him, "You have both seen Him, and He is the one who is talking with you." 38 And he said, "Lord, I believe." And he worshiped Him. 39 And Jesus said, " For judgment I came into this world, so that those who do not see may see, and that those who see may become blind." 40 Those of the Pharisees who were with Him heard these things and said to Him, " We are not blind too, are we?" 41 Jesus said to them, " If you were blind, you would have no sin; but since you say, ' We see,' your sin remains.
.

Today, I am praying for...

  • Jessica to be healed of her migraines and chronic pain
  • Chip Bloecher to have complete healing of his brain and that all his cognitive and physical abilities return. Praying that a spot opens today at UT Southwestern Hospital's Neuro Unit for Chip.
  • Jonathan and Holly Neely's baby, born on Tuesday, who is in NICU with what Jonathan describes here, "Leeland has Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome. It is very serious and they say it will be a long process with several surgeries to get his heart working right or you can pray that God heal his heart now. PLEASE PRAY."
  • God's glory is revealed in all three of these lives - TRANSFORMATIONAL THINKING!!!!

THIS WARRIOR IS A CHILD... INTO THE WORD AND PRAYING...

WOMEN IN THE WORD WEDNESDAY
.
This week, we are to the part of our monthly scripture memory that emphasizes 2 things:
  • the WORD OF GOD
  • PRAYER

Yesterday, I shared with you a marvelous example of a sister-in-Christ who uses both well. Lisa Bloecher is child-like, poor in spirit, mourns with the hurting, hungers and thirsts for righteousness, and shows mercy in many ways. She is a WARRIOR WOMAN for Christ and uses her weapons of THE WORD and PRAYER well. What Lisa, you , and I must do is put on God's full armor and stand firm. Tough stuff when you're going through something like Lisa's going through now. Late last night her FB status was not her normal scripture status or prayer, but this update on her hubby, Chip:

"doctor concerned too low brain activity. different doctor, different report tonight. we covet ur prayers."

Please join us in reading what we must do:

Ephesians 6:13-18
.
"Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm then, . ...with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, 15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace. . 16 In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God. . 18 And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

THIS WARRIOR IS A CHILD... PRAYER WARRIORS...

Their names are Chip and Lisa Bloecher: COUPLE EXTRAORDINAIRE! CHRISTIAN WARRIORS COVERED IN HIS ARMOR!
.
Here is a very brief / simple synopsis of this salt of the earth / light of the world couple who I am so grateful for today:

  • When we built our house in York, Nebraska, the back of our two acres met up with Lisa's parents' property.

  • Lisa and Chip were students at York College... met... married... moved to KC, MO.

  • Chip began his journey as a teacher... Lisa learned how to play the guitar... Together, they were heavily involved in ministry... especially to youth.

  • Part of the planning committee of Youth In Action (YIA), Chip insisted that Steve be the main speaker for the guys and me for the girls for several years. Since it fell, each year, on the week between Christmas and New Year's, it usually included our anniversary (30th)... YIA took over the KC Airport Embassy Suites each year... Chip begged that if we would just do it, he would honor our marriage and anniversary... That he did! Upon arrival, much to our surprise, the Presidential suite usually reserved for "dignitaries" had been reserved for us... we gave tours for the kids to see it... it was AMAZING!

  • Tragedy came to Lisa's family twice... her dear daddy passed away... her sweet sister was watching a parade with her family in Lincoln when a careening/out of control car came at the crowd and took Connie's life...

  • Through the long process of healing, Lisa read her Bible, wrote in a prayer journal, and made music...

  • Chip and Lisa remained deeply involved in ministry. Lisa's blog chronicles her journey and her music: http://www.lisabloecher.com/

  • Eventually, they moved to Texas... Chip has been principal at Carrollton Christian Elementary School for four years... http://www.ccasaints.org/10141012692647493/blank/browse.asp?A=383&BMDRN=2000&BCOB=0&C=52848

  • They've had a little girl since moving to Texas.

  • Lisa's musical reach expanded greatly when she cut a C.D. in November 2009 to share the Good News of the Kingdom to the people of Japan.

  • Their ministry has continued to youth, the sick, downtrodden, homeless, orphaned....

  • Their ministry includes several continents... the countries of: Ghana, Guatemala, Honduras, and Japan.

  • Below, I share photos of this family that so passionately and compassionately wears the name of JESUS...

  • In every sense of the WORD, they are WARRIORS OF THE CROSS!

  • Each day, Lisa updates her FB status with her SWORD (which Ephesians 6 says is the WORD OF GOD)... her scripture choices are most often just what I need for that time of the day... she deeply encourages me daily...

  • Yesterday, about 5 p.m., Lisa posted this on her FB status: "...u all know I'm a prayer warrior, but it's so good to know I can take a break--go to bathroom, take rest, shower...and u all have my back. I luv u all dearly."

  • Why did she post that? Because it's true... and tragedy has hit once again...

  • Please enjoy the journal of pictures and then join me in STANDING FIRM, PUTTING ON GOD'S FULL ARMOR, and doing some WARRIOR PRAYING for Lisa and Chip...

His body temperature was 107, For the next almost 24 hours, in a coma, Chip was on the brink of death. In the ICU he has been ice packed and covered in prayer. Yesterday afternoon, he was able to open his eyes and move all four limbs... although still somewhat unresponsive. Praise God in all things!
