It's quite possible that you've read the entire passage about this woman in Proverbs 31 many times OR maybe you read it once and said "never again" OR you've read it for the first time on this blog today.
.
Whichever it is, at some point, each of us are a taken aback by this woman's work ethic and all the physical stuff she does. Many of us have been guilty of modeling WHAT she does before looking at WHO she is and WHOSE she is. Let's begin today by looking at this woman the way God looks.
.
In I Samuel 16:7,
God tells us that people look at the physical
"but the LORD looks at the heart." .
In Isaiah 55:9, God says,
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways,
And My thoughts than your thoughts."
.
You could be a "wife" and/or a "mom, but maybe you're neither. No matter! We'll be looking at The Virtuous WOMAN this summer. So, join us as we begin to think on a higher level about this woman. Let's look at what God looks at - the heart. The world has many definitions of WOMAN. In fact, the world will measure our WORTH by it's own standards. How about beginning today to look closely at God's definition and standards for His woman of excellence?!?!?!
.
Oh, yeah, and while I'm pondering those heart matters today, my list includes:
- fix breakfast and lunch for my family
- mow the lawn
- prune some limbs that have gotten out of control
- clean 2 rooms
- pay some bills online; working on the budget
- do 3 loads of laundry
- sew on a button (for real)
- work for a few hours at the university
- run by the health food store
- email winners of last week's blog celebration
- go to our church fellowship meal and Bible study
