DAY 17 of 30 DAYS TO TAMING YOUR TONGUE:

To me, Day 17 and 18 go together. Over the years, part of my transformation in becoming God's woman has been to keep allowing the Holy Spirit to work on my harshness and tact (or lack thereof). As I said yesterday, I'm such a "where the rubber meets the road" type of a person that I often let "practicality" win out over God's wisdom taking control of my tongue.

In his Sunday sermon, my husband Steve said, "We were never intended to be strong enough, good enough, or courageous enough [without God]." Sister, we need the power of the living God of the universe to make it in this journey!

Some of my favorite spiritual meals are the Bible books of 2 Corinthians, Ephesians, and Colossians... in them my gracious Heavenly Father teaches me about His power in me!

2 Corinthians 4:7
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
"But we have this treasure in earthen vessels,
that the surpassing greatness of the power
may be of God and not from ourselves..."

Ephesians 1:18-19
"I pray that the eyes of your heart
may be enlightened,
so that you may know
what is the hope of His calling,
what are the riches of the glory
of His inheritance in the saints,
and what is the surpassing greatness
of His power toward us who believe."

When I allow God to be at work in and through me, then, there is much to be said about THE POWER OF ONE:
Colossians 4:6
"Let your speech always be with grace,
seasoned, as it were, with salt,
so that you may know
how you should respond to each person."
