KETCHUP AND MUSTARD SATURDAY
Catch Up and Must Do
.
MUST DO: Jesus, the Creator, gives Life - both physical and spiritual... earthly life and eternal life!!
.
Yesterday, our GRANDdaughter turned one year old. She announced (with her t-shirt ) that her mommy is expecting another baby to arrive in October. Since our other daughter-in-love, Krista, is expecting the first part of June, we will elevate to grandparents of 3 in October! Congratulations, Chloe! Congratulations, Jordan and Jacqueline! GIGATTAATTGIG!
.
. MUST DO: Yesterday, I brought up the Old Testament connection to Jesus' 2 greatest commands. The two greatest commands are our memory verses for this month:
.
"Love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind
and with all your strength.'
.
The second is this:
'Love your neighbor as yourself.'
There is no commandment greater than these."
.
A person who really understands these two commands and lives them out will have an ABUNDANT LIFE here on this earth and begin the journey of ETERNAL LIFE.
.
As I consider who my "neighbor" is, I think first of those I am the closest to... those who I live with... my family... Then, as I re-read the Old Testament passage, I certainly can connect Deuteronomy 6 in even more ways to the 2 greatest commands.
.
"Love the LORD your God with
all your heart and
with all your soul and
with all your strength.
These commandments that I give you today
are to be upon your hearts.
Impress them on your children.
Talk about them when you sit at home
and when you walk along the road,
when you lie down and when you get up.
Tie them as symbols on your hands
and bind them on your foreheads.
Write them on the door frames of your houses
and on your gates. "
.
You want LIFE to come to your household!!! Talk about loving God - all the ways you can love God. Do it daily!
.
.
MUST DO: As we were raising our children, we tried very hard to make discussions about loving God and putting Him first an everyday thing. I am confident that our children will pass on their LOVE FOR GOD to their children. Yet, how can we directly do that when we live so far away? We've written our first little adventuresome book for our grandkids as we honored Chloe's first birthday. Here is the cover and two of the pages. See if you can fill in the blanks on Page f.
