"A millionaire lives on my street, and would you believe... it's me!" This is the first line of the book Richest Lady in Town by Joyce Landorf Heatherly. It is a book that has blessed me beyond measure.
.
It is a book that taught me to fall in love with Luke 6:37-38:
"Give, and it will be given to you.
A good measure, pressed down,
shaken together and running over,
will be poured into your lap.
For with the measure you use,
it will be measured to you."
.
It is a book that helped me to become more aware of being led by the Holy Spirit of God to give to His family:
.
Galatians 6:7-10
"Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked.
A man reaps what he sows.
8 The one who sows to please his sinful nature,
from that nature will reap destruction;
the one who sows to please the Spirit,
from the Spirit will reap eternal life.
9 Let us not become weary in doing good,
for at the proper time we will reap a harvest
if we do not give up.
10 Therefore, as we have opportunity,
let us do good to all people,
especially to those who belong to the family of believers."
.
You see, one believer prays in faith, nothing doubting. Then, another believer is touched by a thought or a conviction to do something for the person who has been praying even though the convicted one does not know about the praying.
.
For the family of God to live like the above two verses, it takes listening to the Spirit of God... it takes being led by the Spirit of God:
.
Romans 8:14-17
"...those who are led by the Spirit of God are sons of God. 15 For you did not receive a spirit that makes you a slave again to fear, but you received the Spirit of sonship. And by him we cry, "Abba, Father." 16 The Spirit himself testifies with our spirit that we are God's children. 17 Now if we are children, then we are heirs-heirs of God and co-heirs with Christ, if indeed we share in his sufferings in order that we may also share in his glory. "
.
Are you listening? Are you allowing God to lead? There's someone out there right now in the household of faith who is praying! God may want to use you to answer their prayer! Are you listening?
