My life is so blessed with spiritual encouragement. Thank you, God! If you came to this blog on Meditation Monday, I apologize for not posting. I spent time on Saturday and Sunday getting much needed spiritual refreshment. So, Monday, the remainder of my 105 papers that needed grading could not wait any longer. I was confident that if you came to this blog that you would be able to find something to meditate on in spite of no new post. My perfectionistic self needed to make the mature decision although I would have rather been blogging!

There's something about teaching university students that is exhilerating and extremely frightening at the same time. I love to teach. So, when I hear from my students that they feel that I am accomplishing that, I am encouraged. Yet, I'm always one sentence away from embarrassing myself, saying the wrong thing, or just being off base. Perfection never happens!

In Christ's Sermon on the Mount, His summary statement at the end of Matthew 5 and after
- the beattitudes
- telling His disciples to be light and salt
- talking about loving - yes, even our enemies
...then, He says...
"Be ye perfect as your Heavenly Father is perfect!"
.
Yo! Since we know that only Jesus was perfect - what does that verse mean? My studies lead me to believe that it means MATURE! "Be ye mature as your Heavenly Father is mature!" In other words, grow up and start acting like christians!

Saturday night during Steve and Annie Chapman's concert, Steve shared about a time when they were invited to sing at a big anniversary celebration for Focus on the Family. They messed up their song - but they covered it up enough that most people didn't notice! When they went to sit down (by another famous christian singer), he said to them,
.
"Greatness is not found in perfection,
it's found in recovery!"
.
Annie continued by asking this question to us:
What's the difference between the Righteous and the Wicked? Her answer?
Proverbs 24:16! It's about the recovery!
"...for though a righteous man falls seven times,
he rises again,
but the wicked are brought down by calamity. "
:
Another question, then:
I was inspired to keep getting back up by the Chapman's and then again on Sunday, when my husband Steve preached another sermon on Holy Spirit living and showed the video of Nick Vujicic at the end of his sermon. I have a similar video of Nick for your viewing if you scroll down to the bottom of this blog.

2 Corinthians 12:9-10 reminds us where the power comes from to do the mature thing:
