It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

THE LIGHTHOUSE: POINTS

Yesterday morning, Steve was planning on heading to a preachers meeting at Cape May, New Jersey. This is the Cape May lighthouse taken at evening. Ironically, because of some lighting issues that we are having at our house, Steve chose to stay home and be here when Carl, our deacon electrician arrived to check things out. We have light surges every hour...we have had continual computer problems...we have a high electric bill...are they all related? It is irritating having lights surge down and then back up! Is it dangerous? Could we have a fire?
.
Carls expertise quickly pointed to our problems that do need to be resolved. In other words, we need to get the problems fixed! Carl did some repair work and I have not seen a power surge since then. Thank you, LORD, for using Carl to point out the problems and begin the solution process.
.
I am specifically thinking, on this FAMILY FELLOWSHIP FRIDAY, of areas that I have needed to "fix" in my life over the years. Various family members will lovingly point those out to me. I have to say that the most convicting times are from the WORD, THE LIGHT OF THE WORLD. It's like a laser light pointing straight to the scripture need of the moment.
.
Something that was POINTED out to me recently, during our study of James, was concerning my being religious. The WORD shed LIGHT on my life and I was quickly convicted. I need to fix the problem! Many people in this world claim to be religious, yet GOD sheds LIGHT on the subject by POINTING directly to who He considers to be religious:
.

James 1:25-27

"If anyone thinks himself to be religious, and yet does not bridle his tongue but deceives his own heart, this man's religion is worthless.

.

This is pure and undefiled religion in the sight of our God and Father, to visit orphans and widows in their distress, and to keep oneself unstained by the world."

.

What a teaching! What a great FAMILY FELLOWSHIP ACTIVITY:
  • Some children you know don't have a mommy around. Some don't have a daddy around. Are there children you know who live with a relative because dad and mom are both out of the picture? Talk with your kids about this verse and brainstorm ways to "visit" that child. My own children have many memories of children who were "orphans" since we worked and lived at a children's home when they were younger. They became aware at an early age of the needs.

.

Steve shared it similarly on his blog yesterday: http://www.cochrist.org/

.

As I am finishing this post, our lights have just surged three times. Thank you, GOD! Thank you for allowing there to be something that points out that there is still a problem! GOD is good all the time and all the time GOD is good! GIGATTAATTGIG

Because of JESUS, we are the LIGHT family,
