It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

ROOTS AND WINGS: WHISPERING IN GOD'S EAR!

Today was a first for me. Today was my first day to teach at Rowan University. I’ll be teaching 3 sections of the same class this fall. It’s entitled: Differentiated Instruction in the Inclusive Classroom. For me, that translates to: “Patti, you’ll have 3 classes of teachers-in-training to be elementary teachers…make sure that they know how to identify, honor, and teach to the differences of ALL their learners so that everyone will have success.
.
Whoa! Tall order! Yet, isn’t that what we pray to the Maker of the Universe everyday as moms of our growing and developing learners? One of the hardest things to teach or learn about is life and death…living and dying. Each of us have experienced this in some form or another. As in the commercial, “Sometimes life comes at you fast…” When life comes at me fast, I often experience a flood of emotions. As the mother of 4 children and wife to a very busy husband, I found my emotions being the barometer to how our days went. So, what if life comes at a whole family fast? A family can quickly be drowning in multiple floods of emotions unless they have an Anchor, a Life Preserver, a Rock on which to stand…
.
Today, I read a life and death post that Andrea wrote yesterday. It took me from tears to laughter back to tears and then joyful laughter. When you're finished here, take the time to link to this story that models what I’m talking about:

.
We will never know what the next day will bring…so that's why as I continue to grow and be transformed by GOD's Spirit within me, I'm making an attempt each morning to roll out of bed onto my knees. Softly whispering in GOD's ear, "LORD, I'm Yours today, I'm so sorry for my sins and how they disappoint you...forgive me...take control and lead me...fill me up with You..."
.
Many days life comes at us fast! Sisters, join me in rolling out of bed onto our knees each morning. Continue to pray all throughout our days-whispering our praise and petitions to our Heavenly Father…model it for our children, so that they in turn will whisper to GOD all throughout their days. Let’s learn to whisper in GOD's ear! You’ve heard the old saying, “A family that prays together, stays together…” Thank you, Andrea and Chuck for modeling that for us this week! You're giving your boys ROOTS AND WINGS!
.
Let these pictures help you capture that idea:

One day your family may have a roller coaster of emotions that looks similar to this...GOD is just a whisper away...
  • JOY
  • ANTICIPATION
  • DISAPPOINTMENT
  • SHOCK
  • LOVE
  • RELIEF
  • HOPE
  • GRIEF
  • ANGER…
    .

How do you or will you handle it?

How will your children handle it?

Patti, one of my favorite classes I took in college was, Educating Students with Disablities. I learned a life altering piece of advice from my prof. that I've carried with me. "Fairness isn't equality. As a society we believe everyone having equality is fair. Fairness is everyone getting what they NEED." Once I understood this in relation to education, I was able to apply it to my universal view. I see how modern society has made cultures off balance. Knowing Christ is the counter balance.

I'm glad you appreciated our lesson in death as much as we did.
