HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH...THE B.I.B.L.E. - YES, THAT'S THE BOOK FOR ME...

This is my little four year old friend, Ria! I had seen a video on FB that her mommy had posted of Ria singing all 66 books of the Bible. What an excellent video it was! So, Wednesday night after Bible study, I asked Ria to sing them for me. Here she is as she prepares to do just that.

She proceeded to close her eyes and begin with singing, "The B-I-B-L-E, yes that's the book for me! I stand alone on the WORD of God, The B-I-B-L-E....BIBLE!!!!" Then, she sang everyone of the 66 books of the Bible's names, in order."

I will say that Ria's little sister, Gracie, watched with much pride. Then, she wanted to get in the act herself, so she sang to me... "All I want for Christmas is my 2 front teeth!" Precious!

Carla, is a "transformed mom" who is dedicated to teaching God's word to her children at a young age as she builds a HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH! Here are some things that you can learn from what Carla has done with her girls:

1. It's never too young to start talking about the Bible with your children. They need to KNOW that it is the book for them. It is practical and full of what is needed for life and godliness!
2. Things can often be memorized more easily when sung. Go to a christian bookstore and buy a C.D. or two of children's music that includes the Books of the Bible and memory verses. You will be pleasantly pleased what your children will pick up!
3. If you don't know the books of the Bible, then you learn the song, too. Steve and I both learned them at a very early age, as did our children.
4. As you learn them, understand that the Bible is a library of books that will make more sense if you know why they are there. I'll explain:

THE OLD TESTAMENT IS A LIBRARY OF 39 BOOKS WRITTEN BY MANY DIFFERNT AUTHORS WHO WERE INSPIRED BY GOD:

5 BOOKS OF LAW: Written about the beginning of everything, setting up a way of living for the new people on the planet... families, rules, blessings...

12 BOOKS OF HISTORY: As people multiplied on the planet, there was already a group of people who were "God's people". He wanted them to be His loving family full of Faith, Obedience, and Relationship... He wanted a people who would live, laugh, and love with him! These books tell the story of leaving the wilderness and entering the promised land. They tell of men and women who chose faith, obedience, and relationship with God and then would turn away from it. The God of love kept meeting their needs, blessing them, and wanting them to return to faith, obedience, and relationship with Him.

They also foretell about the coming of Jesus, in the form of a baby, who would be the perfect Savior of the world.

Well, there you have it! 66 books that are so full of mystery, suspense, function, dysfunction, blessing, cursing, life, and death that you and I don't need to miss out! The Bible, which is also called "scripture" gives it's own reason as to why we need to read it:

for correction,

for training in righteousness;

that the man of God may be adequate,

Main character of this library of books? Jesus Christ! It's His-story!

Yep! I agree with Ria... THE B-I-B-L-E, YES, THAT'S THE BOOK FOR ME! It's also the book for a HOUSEHOLD OF FAITH!!! The book of 66 books!
