So far, in our study of Proverbs 31, we have spent a lot of time talking about how we view God, how He sees us, and the relationship between the two. We've looked at the different types of soil in the parable of the Sower and considered what part of Proverbs 31 might be written in each of our obituaries. The author of our workbook has encouraged us to wrap our minds around the need for each of us to have a "fear of the Lord". Comprehending this one concept and putting it into practice is foundational. It's introductory! It's where the rubber meets the road! It's also the end of the matter!.
Solomon ended Ecclesiastes with,
"Let us hear the conclusion
of the whole matter:
Fear God,
and keep His commandments:
for this is the whole duty of man."
.As we ended our Bible class yesterday, we took turns reading a series of verses aloud. We'd pause to meditate on a verse before someone would read the next scripture and then we would meditate on it. I encourage you to follow the same pattern as I write the same scriptures from the book of Psalms here:

- 33:18 "Behold, the eye of the LORD is on those who fear Him, On those who hope for His lovingkindness..."

- 34:9 "O fear the LORD, you His saints;For to those who fear Him, there is no want."
- 85:9 "Surely His salvation is near to those who fear Him, That glory may dwell in our land."
- 103:11 "For as high as the heavens are above the earth, So great is His lovingkindness toward those who fear Him."
- 103:13 "Just as a father has compassion on his children, So the LORD has compassion on those who fear Him."
- 103:17-18 "But the lovingkindness of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear Him, And His righteousness to children's children, To those who keep His covenant, And who remember His precepts to do them."
- 111:5 "He has given food to those who fear Him; He will remember His covenant forever."
- 111:10 "The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom..."
- 115:11 "You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD; He is their help and their shield."
- 115:13 "He will bless those who fear the LORD, The small together with the great."
- 118:4 "Oh let those who fear the LORD say, "His lovingkindness is everlasting."
- 128:1 "How blessed is everyone who fears the LORD, Who walks in His ways."
- 145:19 "He will fulfill the desire of those who fear Him; He will also hear their cry and will save them."
- 147:11 "The LORD favors those who fear Him, Those who wait for His lovingkindness."
