MEDITATION MONDAY
.
Usually, on Monday's, I will make some connections to Sunday's sermon. Yesterday, I left church services, after communion, to come home and be with our daughter who suffers from chronic pain. Usually her pain levels run from 8 to 10 on a scale of 1 to 10. Recently it's been worse and this past week with the hurricane out in the Atlantic, her pain reached about a 15.
.
It is at times like these that we feel so helpless - yet not hopeless. It's times like these that my humanity wants to throw in the towel. It's times like this past week that I say, more often, "LORD come quickly!" Yesterday, Jessica said, "Mom, it's gonna' be okay!"
.
How does one keep that kind of attitude? Today, I have no sermon to meditate on... but I have a song!
.
"In Christ alone
No guilt in life, no fear in death
This is the power of Christ in me
From life's first cry to final breath
Jesus commands my destiny
No power of hell, no scheme of man
Can ever pluck me from His Hand
'til He returns or calls me home
Here in the power of Christ I'll STAND.".
