It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

IN ME...A BETTER UNDERSTANDING OF GOD...

MEDITATION MONDAY

.
HAVE YOU KEPT THE SAME VIEW OF GOD ALL THESE YEARS OR HAS IT CHANGED? .... That was one of Steve's questions to our congregation yesterday morning.
.
Steve has been down and out for week's since having knee surgery and then his "back went out." He has spent a lot of time the last few weeks reading Romans. So, in his first sermon back yesterday, Steve shared that this time that God had him flat on his back was a time of transforming his view of God. Steve shared with us the following five views of God. Can you relate to any?

.

  1. The Disciplinarian God (viewing God through rules/the law)

  2. The God like us (loves what we love; wants what we want; sees life like we see life)

  3. The God like our heroes of faith (parents, mentors, teachers, etc.)

  4. The Transactional God (Contractual God; I do good and He blesses/protects me)

  5. The God of the Gospel!
    .

Romans 1:16-17 says, " For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

.

Yesterday, in our Life Groups we discussed Steve's sermon, the above, and the following:

.

  1. Paul declared that the Gospel revealed (discloses/unveils) the righteousness of God

  2. At one time, Saul viewed God through the Law; Paul viewed God through what?

  3. Why do you believe Paul MAJORED in UNVEILING GOD to the Roman brethren?
    .

Discuss any or all of the following scenarios:
·

  • Someone viewing God through ongoing tragedy/suffering in their family’s life.

  • Someone viewing God through times of feeling abandoned & unprotected.

  • Someone viewing God through their own eyes, own feelings, own lusts and desires.

  • SOMEONE VIEWING GOD THROUGH THE GOSPEL OF JESUS CHRIST (Death, Burial, Resurrection)!

.

TAKE A LOOK IN & THROUGH THE GOSPEL AND SHARE WHAT YOU SEE ABOUT GOD:

  • How does the Gospel reveal the righteousness of God? (Rom 1:17; 3:21-26

  • How does the Gospel reveal the wrath of God? (Romans 1:18; 5:8-11)

  • How does the Gospel reveal the grace of God? (Romans 3:21-26; 5:15)

  • How does the Gospel reveal the love of God? (Romans 8:35-39)

  • How does the Gospel reveal the goodness and severity of God? (Romans 11:22

  • How does the Gospel reveal the mercy and wisdom of God? (Romans 11:30-36)
    .

  • .

You can find Steve's updated sermons link on the right sidebar. As you think and meditate on these scriptures / questions. Feel free to listen and be challenged by his sermon.
