Today's the day! Can you recite from memory our scripture memory for this month? Try it! If you get stuck, look above for a hint.

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:
(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;
(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;
(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.
It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...
Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..
My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.
If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.
There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.
Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!
Because of JESUS, we can be family,
Patti

..."until there is a divorce!"
.
Satan wants to tear our families apart by getting the children to:
.
He reminded us all that we don't get "do overs"... God does allow us second chances which Dan calls "do betters".
.
Dan's dare was for fathers. He dared them to begin now and DO BETTER. Dare to serve God the way it talks about in Joshua. I have put his dares in a 1,2,3,4,5 format and an A,B,C,D,E format for easy remembering. Wouln't it be wonderful for daddies to take the dare and to "softly and tenderly come home"?
.
Dare to...
.
.
Having trouble clinging to other things you are tempted to serve? Other gods?
.
You must give those up to take the A,B,C,D,E dare!
.
Just in case you are unfamiliar with the scene in Joshua 24:14-22, here it is:
.
14 "Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshiped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. 15 But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD."
.
16 Then the people answered, "Far be it from us to forsake the LORD to serve other gods! 17 It was the LORD our God himself who brought us and our fathers up out of Egypt, from that land of slavery, and performed those great signs before our eyes. He protected us on our entire journey and among all the nations through which we traveled. 18 And the LORD drove out before us all the nations, including the Amorites, who lived in the land. We too will serve the LORD, because he is our God."
.
19 Joshua said to the people, "You are not able to serve the LORD. He is a holy God; he is a jealous God. He will not forgive your rebellion and your sins. 20 If you forsake the LORD and serve foreign gods, he will turn and bring disaster on you and make an end of you, after he has been good to you."
.
21 But the people said to Joshua, "No! We will serve the LORD."
.
22 Then Joshua said, "You are witnesses against yourselves that you have chosen to serve the LORD."
.
To every transformed mom who is reading this, I dare you to share this post with your hubby or a father who you know. Dare him to softly and tenderly come home!!!

She said there were a few verses that kept her going.. that strengthened her... that gave her courage and hope that all things would hold together with God. All she had to do was stand firm...
.
Joshua 24:15
But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you,
then choose for yourselves this day whom you will serve,
whether the gods your forefathers
served beyond the River,
or the gods of the Amorites,
in whose land you are living.
But as for me and my household,
we will serve the LORD."
.
Ephesians 6:12-14
Therefore put on the full armor of God,
so that when the day of evil comes,
you may be able to stand your ground,
and after you have done everything, to stand.
Stand firm...

I pondered different items that represented different places that we've lived and ministered over the years. The black leather chair was a gift to Steve from a sister-in-Christ back in Texas in the '90's. Ahhhh, the memories!
.
As I stood in Steve's almost empty office, I thought of how symbolic this move was of how God works. Our church building was sold long before our new one is built. We are on a journey of faith. First, it took us a while to find where the offices are to move to. We still don't have anything firm about where we will worship together beginning in July. Yet, we walk by faith and not by sight. In fact, my mind went to the words of the song, "This world is not my home, I'm just a passin' through..." Then, I thought of the word "alien" in the Bible and how God uses it for people of faith,
.
Hebrews 11:13-17
All these people were still
living by faith when they died.
They did not receive the things promised;
they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance.
And they admitted that they were aliens and strangers on earth...
... Therefore God is not ashamed
to be called their God,
for He has prepared a city for them.
.
Today this building will begin being the temporary offices of the Pitman church of Christ. Once again, God has provided! At 9 a.m. this morning a group will meet to look at the possibilities of using a local high school auditorium on Sundays. What we know is this: IN HIM ALL THINGS HOLD TOGETHER!
.
NOTE: More to come about our move on Thursday!
.
Dan emphasized that there are many milestones, but timing is very important. Dan has just returned, with over 20 others, from a trip to Israel and Egypt. He showed pictures of a few "milestones" made by the group: Cheryl and Lucy were baptized in the Jordan River... many of them saw Jerusalem for the first time... rode camels for the first time... saw the pyramids for the first time...
.
Dan said to the seniors that there would be many firsts in their lives. God wants us to put first things first: HIM. When it comes to sin, He wants us to stay away from having "firsts". In other words, DON'T EVEN GO THERE! Don't have sex out of marriage. Don't cheat or lie. Don't even experiment with things that are bad for you. Don't steal...
.
Love does not delight in evil
but rejoices with the truth. .
It always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres. .
Love never fails... .
It reminded me of a conversation I've had several times in the past 6 months with several people. "When did we stop calling sin - sin?" Dan's lesson was strong! He spoke it out of love for our seniors... for our church family. He connected his trip to Israel / Egypt to the powerful story of Joseph, in the Old Testament, at the age of 17. He shared ten things to be learned from the life of young Joseph. Here are a few:
.
.
After second service, we honored our seniors and their families with a luncheon. This was organized by our deacon of youth and his wife, Tim and Melody. We do not have a "youth minister" like most churches. Tim and Melody (both have jobs of their own and 3 children) organize and lead Bible study, application, and fellowhip times for our youth.l
.
Each senior got up, one at a time, to be presented with a Bible. Each spoke afterwards. There were a lot of tears. Yet, what struck me was the diversity of the family units. What bonded us together was our LOVE for God and LOVE for God's people. As we listened, we heard snippets of tough love over the years. (As family, we'd been on a lot of their journeys with them!)
