The Greatest Commandment = J.O.Y.

34 Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”

37 Jesus replied:

“‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind.’
38 This is the first and greatest commandment.

39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’

THE KING IS COMING... GRATITUESDAY...

I love the words to our theme song...

"The King is coming,
and He's coming for me!"

I'm thankful today that this KING, the Creator of the universe, who desires an eternal relationship with me is the God of LOVE. When I read, as we did yesterday, from the book of John that Jesus is God and then in 1 John that God is LOVE it draws me to the chapter in the Bible called THE LOVE CHAPTER - 1 Corinthians 13.

Since Jesus is God and God is Love, let's use THE LOVE CHAPTER to help us get to know Jesus.

⁴ "Love (Jesus) is patient,
love (Jesus) is kind.
It (Jesus) does not envy,
it (Jesus) does not boast,
it (Jesus) is not proud.

⁵ It (Jesus) does not dishonor others,
it (Jesus) is not self-seeking,
it (Jesus) is not easily angered,
it (Jesus) keeps no record of wrongs.

⁶ Love (Jesus) does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.

⁷ It (Jesus) always protects,
(Jesus) always trusts,
(Jesus) always hopes,
(Jesus) always perseveres.

⁸ Love (Jesus) never fails.

But where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues, they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away. ⁹ For we know in part and we prophesy in part, ¹⁰ but when completeness comes, what is in part disappears. ¹¹ When I was a child, I talked like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a (wo)man, I put the ways of childhood behind me. ¹² For now we see only a reflection as in a mirror; then we shall see face to face. Now I know in part; then I shall know fully, even as I am fully known.

Grateful that:

Love is Jesus!

A Little History of this Blog:

A group of moms in Pitman, New Jersey began meeting every Tuesday morning in June 2008 to learn how to be Master-Full Moms. Although that class only lasted that summer, we have continued to have other classes for moms offered at the Pitman church of Christ. This blog will remain like an ongoing class. So, come back each day and join us as we discuss being God's women as we encourage transformation in each other.

2. WHAT DOES A MOM DO WHO HAS THE SPIRIT OF GOD LIVING IN HER?

… those who live in accordance with the SPIRIT have their minds set on what the SPIRIT desires …life and peace; the sinful mind is hostile to GOD. It does not submit to GOD’S law, nor can it do so. Those controlled by the sinful nature cannot please GOD. You, however, are controlled not by the sinful nature but by the SPIRIT, if the SPIRIT OF GOD lives in you…Therefore, sisters, we have an obligation… by the SPIRIT you put to death the misdeeds of the body, you will live… Romans 8:5-13

6. MOM, DAUGHTER OF GOD, HOW DO YOU GET THE POWER TO LIVE AND NOT LOSE HEART?

For GOD, WHO said, "Let light shine out of darkness," made HIS light shine in our hearts to give us the light of the knowledge of the glory of GOD in the face of CHRIST.
But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from GOD and not from us.

We are:

· hard pressed on every side, but not crushed

· perplexed, but not in despair

· persecuted, but not abandoned

· struck down, but not destroyed.

Two Kinds of Wisdom

BACKGROUND VERSES:

13 Who is wise and understanding among you? Let them show it by their good life, by deeds done in the humility that comes from wisdom. 14 But if you harbor bitter envy and selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth. 15 Such “wisdom” does not come down from heaven but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. 16 For where you have envy and selfish ambition, there you find disorder and every evil practice.

TO MEMORIZE:

17 But the wisdom that comes from heaven is first of all pure; then peace-loving, considerate, submissive, full of mercy and good fruit, impartial and sincere.

18 Peacemakers who sow in peace reap a harvest of righteousness.
