It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...

This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:

(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;

(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;

(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.

It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...

Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..

My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.

If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.

There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.

Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!

Because of JESUS, we can be family,

Patti

TRANSFORMED MOMS:MOMS TRANSFORMED

Romans 12:1-2 "Therefore I urge you, brethren, by the mercies of God, to present your bodies a living and holy sacrifice, acceptable to God, which is your spiritual service of worship. 2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what the will of God is, that which is good and acceptable and perfect."

THS WARRIOR IS A CHILD... ON MY KNEES... FOR HIS GLORY...

MEDITATION MONDAY

IRSASTHOAD: "I'd Rather See A Sermon Than Hear One Any Day." - Steve Sikes
.
As I've thought about Steve's sermon over the last 20 plus hours, I've pondered what it takes to be a walking, breathing sermon. We talked about it at Life Group, too. It seems to me that most people I've seen as walking, breathing sermons have been people who are acquainted with suffering... "the fellowship of suffering"...
.
Life can be soooooo hard! God gives us huge opportunities to be walking, breathing sermons! I am convinced it takes wearing the FULL Armor of God as we live out the Be-attitutudes and the other principles from Christ's Sermon on the Mount. Simple? Hardly!
.
Our church family has been challenged to read through the Bible in a year. Steve and Dan are preaching through it. We were in Hosea yesterday!
  • Did you know that God asked Hosea to take a prostitute for a wife?
  • Did you know God asked Hosea to stick with her... to love her... to be patient with her... to treat her kindly...?
  • Why?
  • Was it hard? Did he and their children suffer much because of this?
  • What was the purpose?

Hosea was to be steadfast and longsuffering as he lived out the kind of love that God gives to His people:

  • Unrequited love!
  • Unrelenting love!
  • Redeeming love!
  • Holy love!
  • Just and merciful love!

At one point, Steve shared a quote about love: "The opposite of love is not hate, it is indifference!" Love is a choice!

In living out this "love story" sermon, Hosea participated in the GLORY OF GOD! For centuries, God sent prophet after prophet to His people begging them to repent... warning them of the consequences of not trusting and obeying God... pleading with them to leave their evil ways... Yes, His love for His people was relentless!

.

Steve pointed out 5 things that Israel lacked:

  1. Lack of knowledge -Hosea 4:6 says, "My people are destroyed for their lack of knowledge."
  2. Lack of trust in God
  3. Lack of leadership
  4. Lack of faithfulness
  5. Lack of love for God

.

God loves us enough to offer us His own armor to wear... the armor is actually Jesus Christ. We must come to KNOW Him in order to be a walking, breathing sermon - for His glory!

.

In Ephesians 6, before it lists the six pieces of armor, it tells us to STAND FIRM. At the end of the armor list, it tells us to PRAY. Prayer! What a weapon!

.

God, today,

may each of us be

Your walking breathing sermon

as we wear Your armor

and live out the attitudes of Your heart

- Jesus style -

for Your glory!"

.

  1. STAND FIRM
  2. PUT ON TRUTH
  3. PUT ON CHRIST'S RIGHTEOUSNESS
  4. PUT ON READINESS OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
  5. HOLD FAST TO THE SHIELD OF FAITH
  6. KEEP ON THE HELMET OF SALVATION
  7. TAKE UP THE SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, THE WORD OF GOD, AND USE IT
  8. PRAY! PRAY! PRAY TO BE LIKE JESUS IN ALL WE DO!

THIS WARRIOR IS A CHILD

SUNDAY IN THE SON

Lyrics as sung by Twila Paris
.
Lately I've been winning battles left and right
But even winners can get wounded in the fight
People say that I'm amazing
Strong beyond my years
But they don't see inside of me
I'm hiding all the tears

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and cry for just a while
'Cause deep inside THIS ARMOR
The warrior is a child

Unafraid because His armor is the best
But even soldiers need a quiet place to rest
People say that I'm amazing
Never face retreat
But they don't see the enemies
That lay me at His feet

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and and cry for just a while
'Cause deep inside THIS ARMOR
the warrior is a child

They don't know that I go running home when I fall down
They don't know who picks me up when no one is around
I drop my sword and look up for a smile
'Cause deep inside THIS ARMOR
Deep inside THIS ARMOR
Deep inside THIS ARMOR
The Warrior is a Child

WHAT FAITH CAN DO... WHEN YOU'RE CHILDREN ARE HURTING...

KETCHUP AND MUSTARD SATURDAY

Catch Up and Must Do

There are so many ways we are stretched and grown as parents. As christian parents, we desire to trust and turn it all over to God. It is a daily walk of faith! One of the toughest most heart-wrenching challenges as a momma and daddy is when our children are going through something and we feel helpless.

.

1. Gracie
.
Yesterday, Carla spent 5 and 1/2 hours in the ER with Gracie to help her breathe. Thank You, God for breathing treatments. The unknown can be so scarey! Pneumonia? Asthma? Severe Allergies? Thank You, Jesus, for holding our hands during times like these! We trust in You... THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO!
.
After taking Gracie home yesterday evening, Carla was to continue with Gracie's treatments and medicine and then take her back to the doctor this morning for a check-up. Thank You, God for doctors who in some minimal way reflect who You are, THE GREAT PHYSICIAN! We trust in You... THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO!

.
I took these shots as we were waiting for the valet to get their car. Praying for you and your family today, Carla.

2. JESSICA
.
Her pain is often a 10 out of 10. Several times in the last months it's gone as high as a 15 out of 10. At those times, she says it feels like she's giving birth to a baby out of her head.
.
There's a new phenomenan that we've noticed in the last few months. She gets quite a bit of relief from her pain (down to about a 7) right after we have a violent storm (high winds, lots of thunder and lightning, rain). Thursday night we had one such storm. Yesterday, Jessica was able to sit up for much of the day. We talked. She watched television and read on the computer in a vertical position. She even made herself breakfast. Yesterday evening, we took her out for a brief drive around our town and the adjoining town. She came home and went straight to bed.
.
My heart aches for Jessica. It's been a very long road! She was born with several things wrong with her eyes. She had multiple eye surgeries as a young child. After that, she had a fairly normal childhood until the age of 12 when she began to have severe migraines. She is now 27. It's been 15 very long years.
.
After all these years, I see a young women who is positive and full of strength and fortitude. I know that this daddy and momma have cried out to Jesus often. We have learned more and more about leaning on THE GREAT PHYSICIAN and THE WONDERFUL COUNSELOR as we've walked this road together. THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO!
.
I spoke about this more on Tuesday when I talked about our son, his wife, and baby. You can click here to read it. THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO!

.
3. JAMES
.
You may have met James here yesterday on my blog post. If not, be sure and do so and watch the 10 second video clip of him yodeling!
.
His story is very much like a Helen Keller story. James had many challenges as a 9 month old abandoned baby. When Kent and Sharla adopted this Ecuadorian baby, he was lifeless in many ways. Could he see? Could he hear? Would he respond to touch, rocking, holding, hugging...? By the age of 5, James could walk... he knew 20 words. Today at the age of 13 he is fluent in both English and Spanish. THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO!
.
James spent Monday actively learning as he toured Washington D.C. with his parents. On Wednesday, Steve took them into Philadelphia to learn about our nations birth and experience some of the culture of Philly.
.
Wednesday evening over ice cream, James shared with me some things he had seen and learned. What a blessing to have a daddy and momma who have loved and cared for him. They have been his teachers and shepherds. Thank You, Jesus, for modeling this! You are THE GREAT PHYSICIAN, THE WONDERFUL COUNSELOR, THE GOOD TEACHER and THE GOOD SHEPHERD.

This minuteman has attire that distinguishes him as a minuteman. A christian has distinguishable attire that is spiritual: THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD!!! We've been learning about it this month via our memory verses over on the sidebar and my daily posts. If you haven't joined us yet, it's not too late. We begin each month with a new set of verses and a new theme. Each week we change our theme song to hook to our scripture theme.
.
FAITH? It's a piece of God's armor! Be sure and get his FULL protection... GOD'S FULL ARMOR:
  • TRUTH
  • RIGHTEOUSNESS
  • THE GOSPEL OF PEACE
  • FAITH
  • SALVATION
  • THE WORD OF GOD!

WHAT FAITH CAN DO... IN A FAMILY...

I married a man raised on a cotton farm. They also raised a few cattle, pigs, and chickens. Steve and his siblings learned all the things involved in running a working farm. They learned how to work before the sun came up and after the sun went down. This was a family who believed with all their hearts in our amazing Creator who loved to bless. They knew that everything belonged to Him and they were stewards of His abundant blessings!
.
There are 13 siblings in my husband's family, they all have some "farming in their blood", yet not any of them are now farmers. 12 of them have a first name that begins with "S". The male names start with "St" and the female names begin with "Sh". Steve's sister, one year younger, is Sharla. Sharla, "the farmer" married "a farmer" named Kent who had the same perspective about God. Together, God gave them a dream and a heart coupled with an amazing work ethic to minister to the people of South and central America. So, they've stepped out on faith multiple times over the last 30+ years in Columbia, Belize, and now for the last 21 years in Ecuador.
.
Three of their children are married with children and all are immersed in mission work in South America. One adopted daughter, Jeanna, went home to be with the Father in 1988. Thirteen years ago, they adopted a 9 month old abandoned Ecuadorian baby and named him James. Last week, I heard Mary Beth Chapman say that the children you have by birth are your "natural born" children. Those who come to you in other ways are your "super natural" children. Love it! Jeanna and James = super natural!
.
God brought Kent, Sharla, and James to us this week. What a blessing! We shared our lives. Kent spoke to the Tuesday area wide preachers' group. The three of them went with Steve to see Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, and of course, "Rocky's steps". They experienced Philly cheesesteaks. Sharla sat in one of my classes at the university. They met for dinner with our elders and then afterwards Kent spoke at our Wednesday evening Bible study about the amazing work that their mission team is doing in Ecuador, South America, and worldwide.
.
God certainly was in control when He sent two "farmers" who understood about the work of tilling, planting, watering, sunshine, waiting, fertilizing, weeding, watering, waiting...
.
God was in control when He allowed His two children, wearing His full armor, to step out in faith and follow God's lead to see what God would do... a school of Biblical studies, multi-generations of families who now know and love the LORD, churches growing over South America, medical missions all the way into the jungle, a year round camp for children to come to be ministered to and learn about Jesus, a worldwide internet Bible study that has over 10,000 students...
.
I know of no one on this planet who can tell you more about WHAT FAITH CAN DO than these two. They wear the FULL ARMOR OF GOD!!!

Sherri snapped a few photos on Wednesday evening.
.
Kent and Sharla:
Sharla visited with many Pitman sisters including Susie (who lived in Ecuador many years ago with her husband Matt):

Carl and Beverly were in Lubbock, Texas in school with Kent and Sharla years ago:

James posed with Katherine. Dan and Katherine hosted James and his dad and mom in their home because staying in our home would have been too much for our Jessica at this time:

James' joy and love for people is contagious! Although he only had 20 words by the age of 5, James now speaks both Spanish and English fluently. He also is a master yodeler. Steve encouraged him to show us how he does it HERE or click on this picture to see!

Ephesians 6:13-14
  • "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. 14 Stand firm..."

WHAT FAITH CAN DO... IN CHRIST ALONE...

TRANSFORMING THURSDAY

.
It's been almost a week since thousands of women gathered in Philadelphia, at the Wells Fargo Center, to honor Christ and Christ alone! I love the speakers, the singing, the fellowship. Each year, when I attend, I leave deeply moved, recommitted, and troubled. This time, it was the same!
.

This time, when I left Women of Faith, I left with a little clearer picture. I am convinced it is because I spent the summer immersed with our elementary Bible classes in THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD. I have so much in my mind on this subject that I believe I could write a book. Yet, what I'd like to do here is share with you some pics of my wonderful transforming time with my Pitman sisters in Christ and the thousands of women who desire to stand in Christ alone.
.

SEPTEMBER 11, 2010 - THE CITY OF BROTHERLY LOVE HOSTS SISTERS IN FAITH...

My Pitman sisters fellowshipped together during the sessions and outside on the ground during meals. Love you, Melody, Brenda, and Kelly!

:
Love you, Janet, Dottie, Linda, Lynne, Melva, LeAnn, Harriet, Noreen, and all the dozens of you who are not in this picture...

I loved praising God behind my sisters, Karelle, Jackie, Harriet, and Kat:

I loved the deeply inspiring focus of giving God the glory through Christ:

And I loved hearing Andy Andrews, Patsy Clairmont, Steven and MaryBeth Chapman, and Sandi Patti speak... loved the one woman skits, too. And, of course, Steven, Sandi, Mandesa, and the quartet sing!

I loved it all... except for one thing: The sinners prayer coupled with the teaching that if a person just prays this prayer that salvation belongs to them. NO!!!!!!!!!!

As we traveled back across the Walt Whitman bridge into South Jersey, I knew that I was with a group of women who understood that IN CHRIST ALONE... MEANS MORE THAN JUST IN FAITH ALONE... We believe that for this spiritual journey of life, God wants each of us to put on THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD...

Each piece of our Heavenly Daddy's armor is Christ. I want the FULL PROTECTION! I want Christ in me, around me, and on me as I STAND on HIM as my FIRM FOUNDATION.

.

I've seen two professionally done posters, that are sold in stores, to describe this armor. One is shallow and almost bogus. The other is right on as it identifies each piece of armor as Christ! Ephesians 6 lists this armor and says I must put on GOD'S FULL ARMOR. Scripture does say that we are saved by faith but not by faith alone. How did early christians become christians? What did Peter tell them to do at Pentecost, the day the church began? How did they put their faith into action? This is transformational!

.

Go ahead, step out in faith and put on the WHOLE ARMOR OF GOD (Ephesians 6)... the real deal... the complete package. Because of what I witnessed again at WOMEN OF FAITH, I have extra scriptures below in certain sections:

1. BELT OF TRUTH - JESUS CHRIST!

  • John 14:6 Jesus answered, "I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through Me..."
  • John 8:31-32 Jesus said, "If you hold to My teaching, you are really My disciples. 32 Then you will know the truth, and the truth will set you free."

2. BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS-JESUS CHRIST!

  • 1 Corinthians 1:30-31 "It is because of Him that you are in Christ Jesus, who has become for us wisdom from God-that is, our Righteousness, Holiness and Redemption. Therefore, as it is written: "Let him who boasts boast in the Lord."
  • Matthew 6:33-34 "But seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. "

3. FOOT PROTECTORS OF THE GOSPEL OF PEACE-JESUS CHRIST!

  • John 14:27 "Peace I leave with you; My peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
  • Acts 10:36 "You know the message God sent to the people of Israel, telling the Good News of peace through Jesus Christ, who is Lord of all."

4. SHEILD OF FAITH-JESUS CHRIST!

  • Hebrews 12:2-3 "Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, the Author and Perfecter of our faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider Him who endured such opposition from sinful men, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart."
  • Galatians 3:26-29 "You are all sons of God through faith in Christ Jesus, 27 for all of you who were baptized into Christ have clothed yourselves with Christ. 28 There is neither Jew nor Greek, slave nor free, male nor female, for you are all one in Christ Jesus. 29 If you belong to Christ, then you are Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise."
  • Revelation 19:10-11 "Worship God! For the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy." I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True."

5. HELMET OF SALVATION-JESUS CHRIST!!!

  • Acts 2:21 "And everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'" (Patti's note: is this "call" praying Jesus into my heart? Look at the following scriptures that are just a few of the many that talk about salvation!)
  • Acts 2:38-41 "Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. The promise is for you and your children and for all who are far off-for all whom the Lord our God will call." With many other words he warned them; and he pleaded with them, "Save yourselves from this corrupt generation." Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day."
  • Acts 4:10-12 "It is by the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth, whom you crucified but whom God raised from the dead, that this man stands before you healed. He is "'the stone you builders rejected, which has become The Capstone.' Salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other Name under heaven given to men by which we must be saved."
  • Acts 16:29-34 "The jailer called for lights, rushed in and fell trembling before Paul and Silas. 30 He then brought them out and asked, "Sirs, what must I do to be saved?" 31 They replied, "Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved-you and your household." 32 Then they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all the others in his house. 33 At that hour of the night the jailer took them and washed their wounds; then immediately he and all his family were baptized. 34 The jailer brought them into his house and set a meal before them; he was filled with joy because he had come to believe in God-he and his whole family." (Why do some people stop at verse 31?)
  • Acts 22:7-16 "I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, 'Saul! Saul! Why do you persecute me?' "'Who are you, Lord?' I asked. "'I am Jesus of Nazareth, whom you are persecuting,' He replied.... "'What shall I do, Lord?' I asked.
"'Get up,' the Lord said, 'and go into Damascus. There you will be told all that you have been assigned to do.' "A man named Ananias came to see me. He was a devout observer of the law and highly respected by all the Jews living there. He stood beside me and said, 'Brother Saul... 16 And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on His name.' "
(How did Saul "call" on the LORD?)
  • Romans 13:11-14 "The hour has come for you to wake up from your slumber, because our salvation is nearer now than when we first believed... 12 The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us put aside the deeds of darkness and put on the armor of light. 13 Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. 14 Rather, clothe yourselves with the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature."
  • 1 Peter 3:20-22 "God waited patiently in the days of Noah while the ark was being built. In it only a few people, eight in all, were saved through water, and this water symbolizes baptism that now saves you also-not the removal of dirt from the body but the pledge of a good conscience toward God. It saves you by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, 22 who has gone into heaven and is at God's right hand-with angels, authorities and powers in submission to Him."

SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, WHICH IS THE WORD OF GOD-JESUS CHRIST!

  • John 1:1-14 "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. 2 He was with God in the beginning. 3 Through Him all things were made; without Him nothing was made that has been made. 4 In Him was life, and that life was the light of men. 5 The light shines in the darkness, but the darkness has not understood it.... 14 The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
  • Hebrews 4:12-16 "For the word of God is living and active. Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart. 13 Nothing in all creation is hidden from God's sight Everything is uncovered and laid bare before the eyes of Him to whom we must give account. 14 Therefore, since we have a great high priest who has gone through the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold firmly to the faith we profess. 15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are-yet was without sin. 16 Let us then approach the throne of grace with confidence, so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help us in our time of need."

Therefore, STAND FIRM AND PRAY!!!!

.

JESUS CHRIST

WHAT FAITH CAN DO... HELP ME TO STAND IN CHRIST ALONE...

WOMEN IN THE WORD WEDNESDAY

This is the third week to focus on our scripture memory for September: Ephesians 6:13-18. The last two weeks, our theme songs, coupled with different parts of our scripture have encouraged us to put on THE FULL ARMOR OF GOD:
  • First, we sang, I'M JUST A SINNER SAVED BY GRACE, as we were encouraged to STAND FIRM in that grace. We learned that our Heavenly Father wants us to be protected from the evil one, so He has extended us His FULL ARMOR to wear. "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to STAND your ground, and after you have done everything, to stand. STAND FIRM..."
  • Then, we sang, IN CHRIST ALONE: the TRUTH and nothing but the TRUTH... OUR ONE AND ONLY RIGHTEOUSNESS.... THE GOSPEL/GOOD NEWS... the PRINCE OF PEACE... Our scripture began to explain the pieces of HIS ARMOR that we must put on: "...with the BELT OF TRUTH buckled around your waist, with the BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS in place, and with your FEET FITTED WITH THE READINESS that comes from THE GOSPEL OF PEACE."
  • Now, we are focusing on FAITH, SALVATION, and the WORD OF GOD as all parts of GOD'S ARMOR. This week's scripture focus is: "In addition to all this, take up the SHIELD OF FAITH, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. 17 Take the HELMET OF SALVATION and the SWORD OF THE SPIRIT, which is the word of God."

Join me as we practice this week's scripture together and what we've already learned. For September, you can find the entire scripture over on the right sidebar. After that it will be moved down to the bottom of the blog and be replaced with October's scripture.

.

Let's read and re-read verses 13 to 17:

Ephesians 6:13-17

13 Therefore put on the full armor of God,

so that when the day of evil comes,

you may be able to stand your ground,

and after you have done everything, to stand.

14 Stand firm then,

. ...with the belt of truth buckled around your waist,

with the breastplate of righteousness in place,

15 and with your feet fitted with the readiness

that comes from the gospel of peace. .

16 In addition to all this,

take up the shield of faith,

with which you can extinguish

all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation and

the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

Now let's focus on verses 16 and 17:

16 In addition to all this,

take up the shield of faith,

with which you can extinguish

all the flaming arrows of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of salvation

and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.

.

THIS TIME WITH BLANKS:

16 In addition to ____ _____,

take up the shield of faith,

with which you can ___________

all the _________ ________of the evil one.

17 Take the helmet of ____________

and the sword of the ________, which is the word of God.

.

AGAIN WITH DIFFERENT BLANKS:

.

16 In addition to all this,

take up the _______ ___ _______,

with which you can extinguish

all the flaming arrows of ____ ____ _____.

17 Take the _______ ___ ___________

and the _________ ___ _____ _______,

which is the ______ of God."

.

You don't want to miss tomorrow

as we focus on the 3 pieces of armor

for this week:

WHAT FAITH CAN DO... TEACH US TO TRUST AND OBEY...

At our house, we often say that God will take us to the 11th hour and 59th minute to allow us to trust Him and Him alone. Maybe it's really the 23rd hour and 59th minute. Whatever it is, I have once again been s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d........
.
One of our sons has been without a job for several months now. In fact, about the time he was no longer employed, he and his pregnant wife were rear-ended from behind and their car was totalled. She was very pregnant with their first child! Over the last few months, baby Perry has been born (at home by a mid-wife), Caleb has continued to look for a job, and together they have spent time getting acquainted with parenting and their new son.
.
Because they lived in married student housing and have chosen to sit out from school this semester, they were to be out of their apartment by 9/10. Last week when things were seeming more and more bleak, I texted Caleb asking him, "What's your next step?" He texted back, "TRUST AND OBEY!" Tears flowed! That's one thing that I have repeated over and over as a mother. It's what Steve and I have tried to model for our children. It's what God wants. Our son and his little family were living it out!
.
On Friday, the letter from the university said to be out that night! They could not find housing and there was still no job! After, contacting a university official they were given a reprieve until Monday... yesterday.... still not a lot of time with a baby and no job.
.
Sunday, with the family of God, they shared their need... their story... Praise God for Rob and Carol!!!! An older couple came forward with open arms, basically saying, "We would like to help you until you can get back on your feet!"
.
Monday morning, Caleb got a phone call... a job offer! He goes in to sign the paperwork today!
.
God, You still continue to amaze me, inspire me, give me goose bumps... Thank You for teaching us to TRUST AND OBEY... Thank You, for wrapping Your arms around Caleb, Krista, and Perry and giving them a hope and a future in You!
.
THAT'S WHAT FAITH CAN DO!!!
.
THAT'S WHAT JESUS CAN DO!!!
.

TRANSFORMED MOM, LISA, REQUESTED PRAYERS FOR HER HUBBY: FULLY RESTORED! FULLY HEALED!
