I was in the seventh grade, living in Okinawa, with my parents and 2 siblings, when the "tidal wave" hit. THE GREAT ALASKAN EARTHQUAKE of 1964 had registered 9.2 and not long afterwards, the lights in my English class began to sway. Books and papers slid off desks. It was frightening! It was unnerving!
.
At that time, I had already been born again. My heart belonged to Jesus and I did know that it was Him and Him alone who I trusted. I just wanted to get home to my family!
.
Today, Father God, I pray for the people of Japan. I pray that they are reunited with their families. I pray that this will be a wake up call for all, as they consider what it means to come to Jesus Christ and Him alone. God, hear our prayers for those who love You and who have sacrificed much to take the gospel to Japan. We wait to hear of their safety. We give You the glory in all things, for we know that You are good all the time.
