There comes a time that each person is literally down and out like a cast sheep waiting for the shepherd to come to the rescue. The sheep is dependent on the love of the shepherd to come along and use His rod and staff to flip the sheep out of the situation it is in. This perspective for a cast sheep is a big reality check.
.
He is ready for the shepherd to take control.

The last two Wednesdays, we have worked at memorizing Psalms 63:1-3:
.
I have a new reframe of these verses since last week. I believe that there are now people in Japan who for the first time are considering God because they have found themselves in a wet and "weary land where there is not water." I am praying that this terrible tragedy will:
- bring the nation of Japan face to face with Jesus Christ
- cause them to call upon the LORD, as their Good Shepherd, who can rescue them
- enlighten people to see that each one can be a sanctuary for the Living God
- bring whole families to an understanding of the love of God
- bless and fill those who hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6)
.
Once each person understands the amazing rescue provided by our Savior and Friend, it is easy to say these words over and over again:
.
I will praise You as long as I live,
and in Your name I will lift up my hands.
My soul will be satisfied
as with the richest of foods;
with singing lips my mouth will praise You.
