THIS IS A 2 DAY POST:
Read the following 2 scriptures, both written to / about young men, yet both scriptures apply to all of us: men and women, old and young...
PSALM 119:9-10
"How can a young man keep his way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.
With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments."
1 TIMOTHY 1:5
"But the goal of our instruction
is love
from a pure heart
and a good conscience
and a sincere faith."
Let's change it up for women:
"How can a woman keep her way pure?
By keeping it according to Your word.
With all my heart I have sought You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments."
"But the goal of our instruction
is love
from a pure heart
and a good conscience
and a sincere faith."
Now, let's really make it personal:
(Your name), how can I keep my way pure?
By keeping it according to God's word.
God, with ALL my heart I want to really begin seeking You;
Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
I understand that the goal of Your word's instruction
is love
(as You define in 1 Corinthians 13:
patient, kind, not jealous, not bragging...
rejoicing, believing, hoping, enduring...),
from a pure heart
(Following Your word!
Seeking You completely!
Staying focused!)
and a good conscience
(as You've explained in 1 Peter 3:21:
...baptism now saves you—
not the removal of dirt from the flesh,
but an appeal to God for a good conscience—
through the resurrection of Jesus Christ..."
and a sincere faith.
(as You've explained in Hebrews 11:
assured, hopeful,
convicted, approving,
understanding, seeing the unseen...)
LORD,
I ask You to transform me
with the heart surgery that only comes
by Your word... Your Spirit...
BLESSED! OH, THE JOY!
