I am a woman most BLESSED! I shared a few weeks ago that my hubby is a man of peace. As the moon reflects the sun, Steve reflects the peace of Christ. He is a man full of wisdom, because he beseeches God for it. He is a great counselor, teacher, mentor, and father. One of the songs toward the top of the playlist is MY FATHER'S EYES. I've been humming it for the last few hours... not sure why, but most probably because of these words that remind me of Steve... I've paraphrased from female to male:
He's got his Father's eyes,
His Father's eyes;
Eyes that find the good in things,
When good is not around;
Eyes that find the source of help,
When help just can't be found;
Eyes full of compassion,
Seeing every pain;
Knowing what you're going through
And feeling it the same.
Just like my Father's eyes,
My Father's eyes,
My Father's eyes,
Just like my Father's eyes.
I see a "peacemaker" all through those words! I also see a peacemaker as being someone who wants to stretch his hands, using one hand to grab the hand of a friend and the other to grab the hand of Jesus - bringing them together. Thank you, Steve. You did that twice on Sunday:
1. Sunday morning sermon Steve challenged families to submit to Christ and then to submit to each other out of reverance for Christ.
2. Sunday afternoon when speaking at the Pitman High School baccalaureate, I heard Steve explain that there is a key to getting past the improbable and the impossible to a future of possibilities: "With God All Things Are Possible!"
Thank you, Jesus! I see Your reflection in Steve!
BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS
FOR THEY WILL BE CALLED THE CHILDREN OF GOD.
