Today, as my family and I head for a new chapter in our lives, Jesus gives me a peace that passes understanding. I am once again encouraged by the words of this verse and the song over on the right sidebar: "Because He lives, I can face tomorrow!"
It is GOD who BLESSES and TRANSFORMS...
This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:
(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;
(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;
(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.
It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...
Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..
My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.
If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.
There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.
Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!
Because of JESUS, we can be family,
Patti

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS - MEDITATION MONDAY
James 3:17-18
"But the wisdom from above is...Peaceable...
...And the seed whose fruit is righteousness is sown in PEACE by those who make PEACE."
Looking back, in the Old Testament, at the book of Proverbs, I see that the word PEACE is used 5 times. You may be an occasional blog reader, a regular, one of my own children, or one of my children in the faith... whoever you are, I ask you to join me today in meditating on these wise words from Proverbs 3:
The Rewards of Wisdom
But let your heart keep my commandments;
2 For length of days and years of life
And PEACE they will add to you.
3 Do not let kindness and truth leave you;
Bind them around your neck,
Write them on the tablet of your heart."

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS - KETCHUP AND MUSTARD SATURDAY
Mustard (Must Do) Saturday!
This week, as I have meditated on this verse, I have realized how short I fall. My words are not what they need to be in this area of peacemaking. I've also considered where else in the New Testament it talks about the "children of God" and I have been given much to ponder. Let me share it with you here:
CHILDREN OF GOD:
- are peacemakers - Matthew 5:9
- have received Jesus and believed in His name - John 1:12
- are those who are led by the Spirit of God - Romans 8:14
- have freedom and glory - Romans 8:21
- are in Christ Jesus by faith - Galatians 3:26
- are blameless and pure, without fault - Philippians 2:15
- shine in the world like stars in the sky - Philippians 2:15
- are lavished with love by the Father - 1 John 3:1
- are not known by world - 1 John 3:1
- will be like Christ, when He appears - 1 John 3:2
- do what is right 1 John 3:10
- love brothers and sisters - 1 John 3:10
- are born of God - 1 John 5:18-20
- do not continue to sin - 1 John 5:18-20
- cannot be harmed by the evil one - 1 John 5:18-20
- have been given understanding by Jesus Christ - 1 John 5:18-20
- are IN HIM - 1 John 5:18-20

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS - FAMILY FELLOWSHIP FRIDAY
Yesterday our 5th grandchild was born! We are so blessed to welcome her into the fellowship of our little family... our larger extended family of cousins, aunts, and uncles, AND our world-wide Christian family who are followers of Jesus Christ. It is a blessing that I hope she never takes lightly.
It is amazing how beautiful it is to be part of the family of believers in Jesus Christ . The past few weeks, as we have prepared for our move to Minnesota, the stress has mounted. The more the stress mounts, brothers and sisters in Christ have come alongside to share the burden of the load. In the midst of chaos, I know that I am:

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS - WOMEN IN THE WORD WEDNESDAY
- Is it saying that being a peacemaker takes preparation?
- Is it saying that peace describes the gospel? Peace is the gospel?

BLESSED ARE THE PEACEMAKERS - MEDITATION MONDAY
- It takes a conscientious choice!
- It takes obedience to Jesus' commands to quit worrying.
- It takes counting our blessings and not our troubles.

BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART - FAMILY FELLOWSHIP FRIDAY
As I grieve the loss of my mom, I keep returning to the thought, "Mom had such a pure heart!" How does that happen? Instead of writing a post about it, today God connected me with a post to read. I MUST share it with you! I can so relate to how the author grew up and what he says. I encourage you to take heed of his words!How do you keep your heart pure?How do you help keep your children's hearts pure?How do you help keep your husband's heart pure?

BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART - TRANSFORMING THURSDAY
If you look up the word "transform" in a dictionary, you are going to read something like this:
trans·form
Verb:
| ||||
Noun:
| ||||
Synonyms:
|
The month of July found multiple transformations occur in my family:
- July 1st found my hubby hanging out at home. His last day on the job was June 30th. Transition! Transformation!
- Our newest grandson entered this world on July 2nd! What a transformation took place during the 9 months in the womb! Then, the transformation didn't stop on arrival day: physical, intellectual, relational, and emotional transformations will occur throughout his entire lifetime. His coming has certainly changed his daddy, mommy, and brother's world... and that of his entire extended family. Yes, transition and transformation!
- Our house began to change from a cozy place to call "home on earth" to a house full of boxes, looking more like a packing plant, as we prepare for a move. Transition! Transformation!
- On July 20th, my mom transformed from this world to paradise. Her body became an empty shell... her soul is with her Savior! Transition! Transformation!
- Last night, our congregation lovingly honored my family and me, as we prepare to leave them for a new work in a new place. Much change will occur for them... for us... Transition! Transformation!
None of this would be possible without Jesus holding it all together for me!
I love Colossians 1. What an encouraging scripture for times of transition and transformation. May you be blessed by this reading beginning in verse 13:
"For He rescued us from the domain of darkness,
and transferred us to the kingdom of His beloved Son,
14 in whom we have redemption, the forgiveness of sins.
(Redeemed us! Forgave us! THE REASON WE CAN HAVE PURE HEARTS!)
15 He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of all creation.
16 For by Him all things were created, both in the heavens and on earth,
visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities—
all things have been created through Him and for Him.
17 He is before all things, and in Him all things hold together.
18 He is also head of the body, the church;
and He is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead,
so that He Himself will come to have first place in everything.
19 For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him,
20 and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself,
having made peace through the blood of His cross;
through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven.
21 And although you were formerly alienated and hostile in mind,
engaged in evil deeds,
22 yet He has now reconciled you in His fleshly body through death,
in order to present you before Him holy and blameless and beyond reproach—
23 if indeed you continue in the faith firmly established and steadfast,
and not moved away from the hope of the gospel that you have heard,
which was proclaimed in all creation under heaven..."
