Father God, I adore You. I give You praise and honor for who You are:
.
Father God, I confess to You that I am a sinner who desire a clean heart. You are:
This is a blog for women (not just moms) who:
(1) Desire to be transformed by JESUS' LOVE, HOLINESS, AND GRACE;
(2) Believe that GOD'S WORD is the true Spirit food for HIS HOLY SPIRIT who lives within us;
(3) Submit to GOD and walk this journey of life with HIM transforming us more and more into HIS likeness.
It's a blog about the POWER OF TRANSFORMED LIVES. Let's begin with yours and mine and pass it on... 1 + 1 + 1...
Since GOD's HOLY SPIRIT lives inside a christian, let's choose to be nurtured and transformed by feasting daily on HOLY SPIRIT food - GOD's WORD - The Holy Bible..
My regular posts stopped in 2013, with a major move and the chronic illness and eventual death of our oldest daughter. Yes, we grieve daily, yet I am determined to continue to let the LIGHT of my LORD and SAVIOR shine through me. I have tried to start posting again, over the last few years, but have not been consistent. So, I think the biggest blessing for you and me both will be to intersperse some new posts while revisiting some of the former posts. Let's begin with "Oh, the JOY!" as we head into living through Fall 2019; meeting back here 1-2 days a week.
If you need daily encouragement, you will find plenty by clicky on past posts. When reading earlier posts, you will see that I often posted daily, following this format: ...Sunday in the SON, Meditation Monday, GratiTuesday, Women in the WORD Wednesday, Transforming Thursday, Family Fellowship Friday, Ketchup & Mustard Saturday.
There's a whole lot here! Take your time to browse.
Please come back and visit each week. Welcome!
Because of JESUS, we can be family,

God, the Father
God, the Son, and
God, the Holy Spirit who lives in my husband -Steve Sikes.
Let me put it this way - we are ending the month focused on BLESSED ARE THE PURE IN HEART, FOR THEY WILL SEE GOD. This whole concept takes me to the song "Heart of Worship". Then, to take it a step further, the second song, "Household of Faith", reminds me of Steve and I as a young couple years ago, who out of pure hearts, committed to building our home to the glory of God. It's now been over 24 years since our youngest of four was born. Our children love their Daddy, dearly. They see Him as a reflection of our Heavenly Father. He has so many of our Father's characteristics, including, those described in the song "Father's Eyes". On this day that we celebrate and remember Jesus, we also celebrate you, Steve Sikes... we see Jesus in you! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
-You see the good in things when good is not around.
-You look for sources of help - seeking and finding.
-You are full of compassion!

1. Just do it!
2. Make a list of 30 BLESSINGS and carry it with you... read it and refer to it often...
3. Pray! Pray! Pray! Pray throughout your day. Eventually, you will be praying prayers of praise for your blessings.
Let's face it! If you are reading this, then you have sinned! SIGH! As Romans 3 says, "...for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God..."
Yet, many people these days think SIN is an "old-timey word". Most are more comfortable saying, "I made a mistake!" or "I had an indisgression."
"...sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;
20 idolatry and witchcraft;
hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage,
selfish ambition, dissensions, factions
21 and envy;
drunkenness, orgies, and the like.
I warn you, as I did before,
that those who live like this
will not inherit the kingdom of God."
.
So, what would it look like to live the opposite? Could we write it something like this?
...sexual morality, purity and self discipline;
20 JESUS;
love, harmony, giving honor, fits of joy, humility,
collaboration / cooperation, unity
21 and honoring the differences;
filled with the Spirit, fellowship with believers,
and the like.
I warn you, as I did before,
that those who live like this will inherit the kingdom of God.
What happens if I mess up? If I'm living in JESUS and for JESUS, He takes the blow... the punishment... the condemnation... Romans 8 says,
"Therefore,
there is now no condemnation
for those who are in Christ Jesus..."
So, no turning back my friend!
Jesus has you covered.
Live intentionally!
Each new day, we step out of the bed and
STAND ON HOLY GROUND -
AS IF WE HAVE NEVER SINNED...

It is JESUS' blood that purifies us! Jesus does so much for us! Yesterday, Dan's sermon was on the names of JESUS. Now, if you've followed this blog very long, you know that is one of my favorite topics. In my typical ABC format, I began to consider the names of JESUS that specifically connect us with this purity of heart that is our blog theme for this week. Join me in meditating on these names or descriptions of JESUS today:

KETCHUP AND MUSTARD SATURDAY
FRIDAY:
Today I was outside for graduation for over 4 hours. I sat in my black robe/hat up on the podium and realized how very thankful I was for cloudy days. The sun was definitely still there... I could feel it's presence.
I looked out over the faces of 2,000 graduates (minus 3) and the many thousands of family/friends and pondered heaven. What will the throng around the throne look like? How many of the people sitting there today are ready?
In the last 24 hours, I have also thought a lot about the worldwide family of believers - the family of God. We are to know that no matter what the cloud cover or the storm, the Son is still there. We can feel His presence in the midst of suffering and difficult circumstances. It is not necessarily in days of celebration that we are drawn closer to our LORD and Savior, the LIGHT of the world.
Hear Him say: "ABIDE WITH ME!"

1. ABOUT GRADUATION: It's silly. Yet, I am so aware of different cultures depending on where I've lived in the USA from the West to the Midwest to the South to the East Coast and then to Europe to Asia. Yesterday, I thought, "Only in Jersey!", as graduates walked across the stage to get their diploma's, names were called:
"Nicolas ____i
Nicolas ______a
Nicolas ____o
Nicole _____i
Nicole _____a
Nicole _______o."
It's time for there to be a few more Saint Nic's in Jersey!
2. I LEFT DOTTIE OFF THE LIST! Yet, I am praying for Dottie continually. Our church secretary/administrative assistant has a tumor on/near her carotid artery. Procedures and surgery are May 25 and 26. Oh, how we have been waiting on the LORD as we trust and obey. Dottie's sisters in Christ are praying at assigned times around the clock for her.
3. I LEFT MAGGIE OFF THE LIST! Maggie Colwell is the new baby girl born to our friends Stephen and Joy at the end of April. Maggie has MANY challenges. Her daddy is blogging about it here as they trust, obey, and wait:
4. OF COURSE, THERE ARE OTHERS... you know of some, as I know of others who are waiting, trusting and obeying... Marcia had heart by-pass surgery recently... Cathy's needs are so great that her church family is selling their belongings today to raise money for her...

5. I JUST LEARNED OF ANOTHER: Our friend, Jim, has a malignant melanoma in his eye. His wife, Janet, recently entered remission from a horrible bout with cancer. When God's saints are bombarded, what do we do? Trust! Obey! Pray! Wait!
God, for these people we pray that YOU ABIDE WITH THEM and their families. May You get the glory through it all. Please join me in praying now for:
Cathy
Dottie
James
Jim
Krissa
Maggie

1. The word "pure" is used 27 times in the New Testament.
2. It is "katharos" in Greek.
3. It means clean or free from contamination.
4. Matthew 27:59 refers to the clean (katharos) cloth that Jesus' body was wrapped in after He was taken off the cross.
5. Matthew 11:5 says, "The blind receive sight, the lame walk, those who have leprosy are cleansed (katharos), the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is proclaimed to the poor." This is used multiple times in Matthew, Mark, and Luke to refer to the cleansing/purification of lepers.
6. Luke 5:13 is another of those scriptures that I love ... "Jesus reached out His hand and touched the man. “I am willing,” He said. “Be clean!” And immediately the leprosy left him."
7. Spiritually speaking, we can look at purity to describe the spiritual heart/mind as free from contamination... In Jesus' words, “Very truly I tell you, everyone who sins is a slave to sin. 35 Now a slave has no permanent place in the family, but a son belongs to it forever. 36 So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed." John 8:34-36
8. In the highest sense, a heart desiring God, as Jesus shares in Mark 12:29-31:
“The most important one,” answered Jesus, “is this:
‘Hear, O Israel:
The Lord our God, the Lord is one.
Love the Lord your God
with all your heart
and with all your soul
and with all your mind
and with all your strength.’
The second is this:
‘Love your neighbor as yourself.'
There is no commandment greater than these.”
WHAT ABOUT "SEE GOD"?
1. It's used 449 times in the New Testament.
2. It's "horao" in Greek.
3. It can mean to physically/literally have a clear viewing of something or to look at something clearly OR it can mean figuratively to perceive, recognize, or experience.
4. On earth, we have the opportunity to see (look straight at) creation as well as the opportunity to see (recognize) the master Creator God through all the wonders of His creation. I think Elizabeth Barrett Browning understood it when she said, "Earth's crammed with heaven and every common bush afire with God. And only he who sees takes off his shoes, the rest sit round and pluck blackberries."
5. Then, there's Jesus' conversation with Nicodemus in John 3: “Rabbi, we know that you are a teacher who has come from God. For no one could perform the signs you are doing if God were not with him.” Jesus replied, “Very truly I tell you, no one can see the kingdom of God unless they are born again.”
6. Finally, there's the “see” that means to experience something. John 3:36, "Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life...."
This weekend, I saw LIFE!
This weekend, I saw LOVE!
This weekend, I saw GOD!

(More connections to this post to come throughout the week!)
.
Swift to its close ebbs out life’s little day;
Earth’s joys grow dim, its glories pass away;
Change and decay in all around I see—
O Thou who changest not, abide with me.
.
I need Thy presence every passing hour;
What but Thy grace can foil the tempter’s pow’r?
Who, like Thyself, my guide and stay can be?
Through cloud and sunshine, Lord, abide with me.
.
I fear no foe, with Thee at hand to bless;
Ills have no weight, and tears no bitterness;
Where is death’s sting? Where, grave, thy victory?
I triumph still, if Thou abide with me.
.
Hold Thou Thy cross before my closing eyes;
Shine through the gloom and point me to the skies;
Heav’n’s morning breaks, and earth’s vain shadows flee;
In life, in death, O Lord, abide with me.

For a "transformed mom", there is nothing that she wants more than to have healing for her family - at the cross.
